As we just played Arky two weeks ago and the Scout for that remains valid I didn't really see the point of doing another Arky Scout.
So...my bags are packed and the BBQ joints researched. Only really one thing left to ponder.
What happens if we beat Arkansas? None of the pundits are giving us a chance even though we won game one of the series with these same pitchers going head to head just two weeks ago. In fact, because one game was cancelled, it's the rubber match.
CDS said we will do everything to win the single elimination game. I would expect that means Cox, Kyle Serrano and Andrew Lee...if we don't have to use either Serrano or Lee, that would be huge, but for the sake of the post, we use all three. Cox makes it 6 innings, Kyle goes 2 and Lee closes.
Here's what is left for the match up with UF, 24 hours later, in order of most IP in SEC games this season...Remember we don't have Martin or Westphal...
Marks, 52.2
Owenby, 46
Kane, 15.2
Lennstohm 6.1
Warren, 2.1
Soto, 2
Robinson, 1
Obviously KS and Lee could be called on again if their pitch counts stay down...but that's it and one has to assume Owenby starts...not a plethora of options.
Maybe Reid and Freeman are on the travel roster, but neither have pitched in an SEC game this season.
How would you manage the pitching situation if you were the coach under the assumption we some how beat Arky?
