With thanks to David Paschall at the TFP, here are some football brain teasers to ponder over your morning coffee....

1. This will mark Tennessee's fifth trip to the SEC championship game. Which league team or teams have made more appearances?

2. Which team has the longest gap between SEC title-game appearances?

3. Auburn defeated Alabama last week for a sixth consecutive year. What team holds the longest winning streak against the Crimson Tide?

4. There have been three SEC title-game MVPs whose first names begin with P. Name them.

5. If Alabama goes to a bowl and loses, the Crimson Tide will be 6-7 for a second straight season. When was the last time Alabama had consecutive losing seasons?

6. Houston Nutt of Ole Miss -- gotten used to that? -- joins Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier and Tommy Tuberville as SEC coaches who have led two league schools. Name the most recent former SEC coach to head two league teams.

7. Should Tennessee win the SEC title, the Vols would become the first league champ to accomplish what statistical oddity?

8. Chan Gailey was fired this week at Georgia Tech after going 0-6 against rival Georgia. Who was the last Tech coach to hold an edge against the Bulldogs?

9. What ACC team has finished a game behind three different opponents for its division lead the least three years?

I missed #7, #8 and #10

Had no clue on 7, but knew it had to have something to do with bad defense.
For some reason I can't explain I guessed Bill Curry on 8
Guessed Notre Dame in their glory years on 10

On the ACC Title Game ... I live in Jax and it is very poorly advertised locally.

On sports radio this AM several calls commented "That is THIS week??"

I a city of 1 million, you should sell out this game even if it is for a b-ball conference. When the ACC went to divisions I think everyone in Florida though it would be FSU-Miami every year.

i look for the city of charlotte to really get back in the running for hosting rights to the ACC title game after the abysmal attendance this weekend.

Years you mean. You can get sort of a season pass to this game, I have a Florida friend who has had SEC Championship tickets since it was in Alabama. (Lucky for me he always sells them to me for what he pays if UT goes.)

I find it easy to believe that the ACCCG still has 20,000 unsold tickets. It's just going to be another boring ACC game.
