Lately they've been good for one solid episode per season. The playoff one from 2024 was gold. The Vandy hip-hop thing has run its course.

Agree - Vandy hip-hop is getting stale until they fall back to being bottom dwellers and knock off a top team or two again.
Now they are actually middle of the pack SEC and are kind of expected to win a top game or two each year...so the hip-hop 'king' thing isn't really relevant anymore.

They are at their best when they devote entire episodes to relentlessly roasting a team or two.

Like as much as it hurt, the “DJ VolunCHEER” bit in 2017 after we got blown out by Georgia was gold.

I wonder if they have different writers. Used to be every episode was at least a little bit funny to me. This season has not produced the first chuckle from me.

Maybe it's me...🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

There must be a bunch of old "I go to Hardee's every morning and eat a biscuit while drinking coffee with the guys as we come up with the solutions to fix every problem in the world and how to have UT win the national championship in every sport every year" on this board.

SEC Shorts is fun. It's entertaining, and - BREAKING NEWS - it's not only free for you to watch, but also voluntary. Don't like it? Then don't watch. Or better...come up with your own alternative.

Or, just keep pi$$ing and moaning about how you don't like it and ifs and buts, etc etc...

I'd like to discuss my disappointment with @tnburban and the quality of his (or her) contributions as of late. Used to be solid material, but gone straight downhill.

Any thoughts?

Personally-I thought the one about how Tennessee chooses their QBs was legendary. When the scouts mouth drops open when the guy overthrows the target by ten yards I kinda lost it


Anyways, anybody know what emotions the Tennessee dude was pointing to in this one?

I have only been a Vols fan for just over a year and had never seen these SEC skits before. —What is the background with the Vanderbilt depiction? You guys say he is supposed to be representing hip hop—I don’t know anyone who thinks anything other than country music with Nashville. For the record, I thought he was supposed to be a pimp lol.

It's not hip-hop. It's the Vandy swagger they got after winning a few games a few seasons ago. Some call him the Vandy pimp because of the cane/staff. It's good entertainment and he even made it to Gameday this year and had a short appearance with Saban. This is the best SEC Shorts episode by far:

If you look on their youtube channel and go back, you can see where he comes in various times. Basically, Vandy uncharacteristically had winning seasons and began to be insufferably cocky.

But for me, I like when they do this bit - its an annual thing to do the report grades. I like it but it could have been a bit stronger. Vols didnt get a lot, either good or bad - kind of like our season :(
