I would love to have seen someone capture their comments from their chat site after the loss. If anyone wants a project, it’s bound to be worth the time and effort.

I have a coworker who is an Alabama fan. All he keeps talking about is how close the game was until Ty Simpson got injured and the team just gave up. He thinks it’s ridiculous that people are calling it a blowout.

He must have been watching a different 38-3 game than the rest of us watched...no matter how you do the math, thats a FIVE score beat down.

You sure he wasn't in this Shorts skit?

FWIW - I find insanely hilarious that all the same people yelling at this time last year that Deboer isn't the guy are now yelling that it wasnt a blow out and it was a close game.

there's just a lot of resignation. The fury is just gone. Callers on Finebaum, however, still pretty excited.

It's funny. After I read your post I went back and checked the score to make sure my memory of it was real and not some kind of fever dream. I now have a new qualifier for Bammers. A Bammer is anyone who DIDN'T think that was a blowout.

The Alabama mystique of Saban is completely gone. Though they make have some good years yet, their dominance is gone. I don’t think they get the (Bama) treatment any more such as they did this year with the playoff spot.

Actually, the future of Bama football fandom will be unlike anything we have ever witnessed. Get the Prozac out in bulk. Just go back and look at Bama fans after Bear, they threw rocks through windows, had a coach leave them for a lowly Tx AM program barely winning enough to be bowl eligible, had alumni in Memphis buying every player in West Tennessee he could, called Fulmer the devil, not because he turned them in (it was documented that other coaches snitched before Fulmer) but because he dominated them unlike any Tennessee coach before.

What does the future hold now AS (after Saban)? They are so hot and cold on Debor, he was a god after UGA last year, was pure crap after Vandy and Oklahoma, this year, was ready to hang him from Bryant Denny after Fl St, then he was the best thing since sliced bread when they won 4-5 in a row over ranked opponents, now his family is under protection after Indiana bowl game. If j were him I would have jumped at the Michigan job.

There is not another Saban or Bryant out there. Add to the fact that the portal has evened things up, each Bama firing and hiring will push bama fans to the point of delusion unmatched in sports history.
