Vandy is ahead of us because they went to a bowl last year and we didn't. I'm confident we will have the better team this year though.

As a whole, Vandy was better last season.


Or, the teams are close enough that the season matters. If he knew enough to really rank'em pre-season, why even play the d@mn games?

Good point, this is a preseason ranking, of course it means absolutely nothing...but fact is they ARE preseason rankings so what not go ahead and take a risk with them?

We brought this on with our losing record last year and the fact that espn dont like us anyway! I love it, this is better than a slap in the face and should make our guys play harder trying to prove them wrong! GIVEM HELL VOLS!!!

I could give a rats tail where we rank in the Power Ranking. We have talent on our team, what we didn't have last year was good coaching on O. We have the coaching now, and we have talent too. If Utah can crush the vaunted Bama, if Appy State can go into the big house and beat Michigan, if lowly Ole Miss (who is horribly overrated) can go into Gainesville and beat the mighty Gators, then the sky's the limit for my Vols. Screw what ESPN thinks, we surprise the nation this year. Not saying we win 10 games, but we can finish better than those guys expect.
