SEC officials are flat out corrupt

Seeing so many really poor calls and non calls on the field there is something seriously wrong with SEC officiating. The personal foul targeting in our game today was overruled fortunately, but during the Bammer Ole Miss game it was worse! The face mask non call was turned into a touchdown for the Tide along with the no call on the interception at the end when the Rebel player clearly had a foot down for the interception sealing the win demonstrates somebody somewhere on these officiating crews are putting their fingers on the scales every week.

An outside organization needs to be brought in and investigate what is going on IMO.

A couple of calls didn't help us today, and against UGA. But I don't place the blame of the loss on it.

Folks, I'm not suggesting officiating had anything to do with our loss. I'm simply suggesting there is an obvious finger on the scales by some of the SEC officiating we see. It was egregious in the Bammer game, they simply gave Bammer 7 points when it should have been a personal foul for the Rebels. The interception non call at the end was just as bad.

They added another official (now 8 on the field), when they needed to recruit quality rather than quantity. The selection process is all about the 'buddy' system and 'who owes who a favor'... Plus, the officiating commissioner is an Alabama graduate who's office is in Birmingham. Let's get someone with no SEC ties, and an office in a neutral city. The official that missed the face mask penalty in the Ole Miss game should be reprimanded. The non-call was inexcusable. Same goes for the official that called 'targeting' in the UT game.

If they are not going to enforce the rule, the SEC should just come out and say, "There is no longer such a thing as defensive pass interference."

I think they are corrupt in most leagues. I don't think every ref has been bought, but there are quite a few with an obvious agenda. Yes, I'm sure it's a tough job and honest mistakes are made, but there are some instances where calls and non-calls are blatant.

Honestly, refs were horrible all day today. But, you shouldn't have to count on a few calls by the refs to win. We're still not capable of decisive victories yet. It looks like it's going to be a lot longer to get there than we all had hoped.

My issue is most calls they miss are obvious to everyone watching. Miss alot of non judgement calls. Like the playclock on the uf field goal. Went to zero but no call. Face mask that led to the TD in the OM-bama game. Playclock in the A&M-arky game. Best conference in the country has some of the worst officials. Hasn't been a week this season that there were no blown calls.

It's been worse this year than I recall in the past. Maybe a lot of the old guys are gone now and the new ones aren't as good. I actually thought we had one of the better crews today.

The play clock call was explained a couple of weeks ago by Rocky Goode (booth replay official) on the Sports Animal after UF had a late snap against KY that wasn't called. When the play clock reaches zero the official looks to see if the ball is moving. If so, no delay of game penalty. Obviously this takes a half second or so and can result in a snap being a tad late and not being called. Funny though that UF has benefitted from this two games in a row.

I used to think the SEC had the best officials. Not so much anymore. Kind of started going down hill when the previous head of officials retired a few years ago.

This is twice this year FL has not been called for delay of game and won .. 4 th down in OT against UK and the clock clearly expired and FL throws a touchdown pass. No flag. Some teams are just lucky.

I do hope officials are graded and affects bowl ability and pay. Today's fail IMO

They are graded and the best crews get the prime games during the year and SEC championship and bowls. Crews also get suspended from time to time for poor performance.

I heard one official say once, "see what you call, but don't call everything you see."

You realize that he just admitted they don't follow the rules. There is nothing in the rules about it being OK to snap the ball after time runs out just because the refs aren't looking. That is something that can be caught on replay. He should have been fired for even making that statement as it shows a contempt for the rules of the game.

They always rationalize the way they screw teams over and try to cover for their incompetence. It was like when they got the rule changed on end zone receptions after the ball bounced off Gafney and was called a touchdown. They pretended they needed a rule change but catches in the end zone had NEVER been called that way before that game and they were NEVER called that way again.

These guys are corrupt and they try to protect the higher rated teams. There is just no way around it. The vast majority of their "mistakes" go to the teams the league would want to protect.

I can't stand listening to Rocky Goode as he always makes excuses for the bad calls refs make each week. I agree with you he should be fired for making this statement.

I agree. I usually squawk about getting robbed by refs more than anybody does, but today, there were too many other things that we did to beat ourselves, from the young players' dumb penalties, to the low-percentage play-calling of our coaches. If we had played a little better, the lack of pass interference call would not have been enough to beat us.

Can't see the ball from that angle. Can't tell if it was moving.

The ball is on the ground. It's obviously not snapped and the clock is sitting on zero.

That is a five yard penalty that knocks Florida out of FG range - if the refs were doing their job. Huge problem.

I agree they do seem to protect highly rated teams. I was surprised today that AL had so many calls for blocks in the back after going nearly a whole year without a holding call.

Still, apparently the way they call delay of game penalties is not reviewed in the booth and they still do it the old way by watching the clock go to zero and then checking ball movement. Maybe it could have been challenged and reversed.

I am

SEC officials are terrible without a doubt, there is no excuse! The richest colliegent league in the country has the worst or most corrupt officials in the country. I hope it's just incompetence and not corruption.
