To be fair to the first point, it is Tennis you're speaking about. Tennis is free of charge to walk in and attend a match. I also don't believe that Tennis at 2:30 in the afternoon would have a high rating which means lost money in television revenue.

The Sec Network would rather (even after football season) let Redneck Finebaum self-made inter circle caller celebs, get on the air while they caption their picture. For 1 hour, no from 3 pm to 7 pm est, are these 3rd graders or even high schoolers, no these are grown Men & a few women. They then throw slurs back and forth while validating every Southern stereotype that has been resonating for years. SEC/ESPN & UT Grad Finebaum himself have sold their soul to the almighty $ not to mention the driveby sports fans that chants Roll tide & Bark out loud ad-nauseam.
Sad but this is reality.

Pretty sure tennis and other non-revenue sports can be streamed live through the UT Sports app

App, App, App!!!! I'm not "app" to pay for more "time" and the other "pay" things that seem to sprout like weeds when you "app"! I live in a town that somewhat concreates the counties population. I have 1, yep one! bar of service on my (world class) AT&T service when I am at home. Not too good for messaging pictures much less "apping". Guess I'm app to just keep hoping for other than Ala, Fla, women's Gymnastics' in off time when no FB or BB are on.

The medium, yeah. ESPN has offered stuff in an online-only format for a while. But they’ve also shown zero interest in promoting some of the more niche sports. I don’t know that I’ll ever see a truck out at Melton Lake doing a rowing regatta, you know? And that’d be just a neat thing to let universities run wild with… give them access to the distribution medium, just the streaming service itself. Allow universities to put together their own coverage and broadcasts, on their own nickel, for their own students in their own communications programs, for the sports ESPN itself just isn’t going to cover. It’s free content for ESPN, trains kids who want to get into sports broadcasting and gives us more stuff to watch. So of course it’ll never happen

Like I said, that’s exactly what SECN+ is. The broadcasts carry the ESPN graphics, but the vast majority are student-led productions. They are all done on the school’s dime and the schools decide what to cover based on the resources they have available. They do tennis matches and swimming and track, all of those things. You’re correct that they don’t do rowing, a production crew and equipment to cover a 2,000m course would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. But every other sport at UT has SECN+ broadcasts.

That’s pretty cool then! I had no idea. I figured hey there are websites where you can tune into a stream of a middle school basketball game, or a high school wrestling tournament… both of which I’ve seen listed on I think it was NFHS. If production costs are reasonable enough that people are swinging those events then it’s just surprising there aren’t more prominently promoted college sports. I’m sure some are just more demanding, like you mentioned rowing is a challenge, and I bet golf is a pain. But things like swim meets or tennis or track… seems like there’s a bunch you could do with just a camera or two in a fixed spot. I have to make more of an effort to see what all’s out there.

I still do not understand why the SEC Network will not provide TV coverage of more SEC sports. Tennessee is ranked #1 in the Nation in Tennis and are, at this moment, playing #10 Wake Forrest. It appears that the SEC is even unaware that one of its Athletic teams is currently ranked #1 in any sport other football. Even some Men's and women's basketball basketball games can only be seen by streaming. Many people who live in rural areas can not stream because they do not have high speed internet. Why can't something be done to improve coverage of more SEC events on the SEC channels. When the SEC Network was introduced, we were promised coverage of many of the "minor" sports on at least one of the original 4 channels. I now see that they list only 2 channels and the second channel is seldom used and is more or less useless. I have noticed that the Big Ten Channels have more channels listed, however, 3 of the channels are carrying the same event. We don't want that either. I enjoyment of the minor sports including Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, etc. Let's try and get some support to require these sports become available on ANY network, preferable on the SEC Network.

We are not getting the programming sold us and they still refuse to provide promised services. Next thing we will see is them trying to increase their subscription fees and cut back on even more services. Disney is making so much money they can cut payroll of the duds they have kept on the books improve the product.

I agree about the announcers. When ESPN has the Skycast I always watch it and the only audio is the PA announcer in the stadium. I don't know why they can't do away with the announcers and just connect the audio from the press box.. Much more feel of the game, IMO.

If you want to see the game and live too far away to drive up 2-3 times a week, you do have to pay for it.
