Sec Network (Terrible programming)

Why must we be subjected to watching the Florida softball team every thirty minutes. No one here cares. I hope they loose today just so we don’t have to hear about them every thirty minutes on the network.

Because the SEC is a strong conference in softball and Florida is the remaining SEC softball team in the WCWS. If you don’t like them mentioning it, mute your TV or stream. if you don’t like watching it, change the channel for a bit. It’s really that simple.😉

And contrary to what you might assume, people do care about softball here.

The terrible nature of the programming is not just limited to running softball. How many times must we be subjected to spring football games or replays of games of the past when live baseball games could actually be shown is beyond me. Then again, maybe they do that intentionally to get you get the upgrade package for more money.

What ticks me off is the showing of the Ala/Ga game over and over again while other real life playoff games are going on. Give it a break until after the national championships are finished. Then go back to letting all the inbred leg humpers stroke each other until the next football season starts.

Lady Vols……no gator fan in any sport….sorry, not enough liquor, hallucinogens, or therapists in the world . Love to watch Lady Vols . I like basketball, football and baseball……but not the gators

I coached softball I just don’t care about Florida softball. Show it on the alternate

I am sick of that too. The older I get the more I like to complain when I don’t get my way . It’s kinda of like being a toddler all over again.😀

Whenever I start flipping around for something to watch, I'll normally check out SECN just to see what they have on. I've noticed lately that it's almost always women's softball. Even with all the men's baseball tournament games going on, it's weird how often it's softball being talked about. I even flip back on there after a while to see if they're talking about our fairly decent men's baseball team and it's crazy how often they're still on softball.

The SEC Network has been known and envied by other conferences for their coverage and support of softball. The sport itself is growing in popularity across the country. As far as timing, the softball season began as the men’s basketball season wound down, so that’s why you saw SECN talking about softball. They are talking about softball now because there is an SEC team still in the postseason. Another reason you see frequent softball news and analysis is probably due to SEC Now reruns.

I hope they win but I don't get it either. It's the World Series, but they are covering it like it's that many more people interested than seeing baseball coverage. They had a Florida player on set taking up much of the SEC Now coverage after a loss. I turned the channel and every time I turned back they were discussing it again.

That said, I think it's pretty cool that they are covering the Knoxville region.

That all sounds perfectly reasonable. I think the more likely explanation is that they're purposely trying to highlight women's sports. Nothing wrong with that, but it seems to me like they might be going just a little bit overboard. After all, there are nine SEC men's teams playing in the regionals. But whatever...just something I noticed.

One of the things I don't understand is why they don't show more of the truly classic games. They show some game from 5 years ago and call it a classic but they never show any of the incredible games played in the 60's, 70's & 80's. I realize the picture quality compared to HD isn't that great, but I would love to watch the 1971 Penn State / UT game or the '67 Alabama game.

Not sure what you folks are talking about but my SECN is currently airing Fl vs Michigan, Baseball 🤷

I think people are talking about the wrapup show last night. It was a 30 minute show.

I would love to see the Ole Miss Bama game of 1969 when Archie Manning ran like crazy on the tater diggers, but his team still lost. There are lots of classics like that out there to watch if ESPN would just do it. ABC and ESPN are merged now.

Seems like every time I checked it this morning for baseball wrap-ups, they were running the same damned show, interviewing a Florida soft ball player who looked like a typical 7th grader.

Two ways to grow older. One is to become full bodied and mellow like fine wine. The other way is to sour into vinegar.

Vinegar is good ,for you. espn and the sec Chanel continue to suck. What a waste of TV broadcasting. I have been saying this for years but nothing come of it. Problem is, ESPN will likely continue to be controlling which and when all sports are broadcast. We should sue their sorry butts!

Funny. The SEC channel is for the....SEC. All teams, all sports--well, not all sports, unfortunately. It's not the Tennessee channel--but feel free to give that a go yourself, since you are so aggrieved.
