Right now, looks like UT will be the class of the East (and being a homer isn't my style) and Mississippi St. the class of the West

Agreed. UT will be the favorite and choke, in true TN tradition. :p

Really, UT should be the top dog in the SEC

The West, with the exception of Mississippi State, will be an absolute disaster area next year. If Gordon loses his mind and goes pro, that side of the league won't produce a single NCAA tournament team.

Oh, make no bones about it, without Gordon, they suck because their guard play drops off so precipitously, but with him and some age / weight on a couple of the bigs and they could be good. ARK will be next in line and, if some coaching shows up, could be decent, but that's a gigantic IF. Either way, they will have size and tons of seniors.

I'm going to assume Heath is back. That means the Hogs will continue to wallow in the slop of mediocrity.

Lot of sentiment against him right now. Especially since the team just laid down in the second half against an undersized USC team.

Haha, I loved Devin at UC tho so I wish him the best...I'm glad he transfered after the mess that is the Bearcats basketball team...

Assuming that the UF players (Noah, Horford, Brewer, Green) go pro, Tennessee will be the best in the East. Doesn't really matter who wins the West since they wouldn't be good enough to finish 4th in the East.

Agree on UT and MSU winning/being the favorites in each division.

What about Kentucky? I'd say they're the toughest competition in the East next year considering Florida and Vanderbilt's losses. Is Morris gonna try the draft, again?

Watch out for South Carolina, they get Downey next year...

They'll also add Zam Fredrick and Mike Jones...if they can get the kind of production from Downey that they got from Kelley, they should make the NCAA tournament next year...

...even if they improve, it's fool's gold for USC. Odom still can't recruit and is still an average coach. Once Downey, Fredrick and Jones graduate, USC will be missing from the postseason again.

Fredrick and Jones are at South Carolina for the same reason. They couldn't cut it at their previous stops. The Gamecocks will be battling Vanderbilt to stay out of the East basement.

He is an NBA Free Agent and can sign with a team today. He can't go through the draft again.

Kentucky might be fighting with Vandy and SC to avoid the bottom of the pile.

It will be interesting to see how UT does as a favorite with big expectations instead of low expecatations and overachieving. If we get to the elite 8 nothing short of the final four will do for most people next year and really even if we don't win tomorrow lots of fans will expect a final four. I still think it will be tough though without a shot blocker in the middle.

Neither UCLA or Kansas has a shot blocker right now.

Kansas hasn't proved anything yet. Plus they still have 3 players with over 1.4 b/g

Isn't Duke Crews supposed to be a really good shot blocker? If so, he hasn't shown that this year.

That's great but Kansas has guys at 6'9 230 lbs, 6'8 230 lbs, 6'11 245 lbs and 6'8 250 lbs so fine if they don't block a ton of shots but they have big men to plug up the middle we don't have which is my point
