I was looking on rivals. Georgia, florida, scar, & ut are all in the top 10 in recruiting. What a hard division this is potentially going to be. I really dont see how any team can come out undefeated in this division. I believe florida will have the last shot at a nc for a while. What do you guys think?

Yeah, no kiddin' -- If a team comes out undefeated with a strong SEC schedule there is no doubt in my mind they would go on and win the BCSCG.

We just need to work on takin' the talent we have an' make something of it and become a legit NC contender in the upcoming years.

here in knoxville we are more worried about seeing a SEC Championship in the next decade or so. NC is not even a thought at this point.

agree 100%.

Even tougher for Fulmer coaching against Richt and Meyer and Spurrier. Its going to be very tough to finish ahead of all of them.

When has it not been a hard division? Add in the inter-divisional games, a championship game against the best from the west, and one difficult game out of conference every year, and you have a very daunting test for any football team, just as it has been since 1992 (and before.)

The winner of the SEC Championship is usually somewhere in the mix for the national championship (see Florida '06, Auburn '04, LSU '03, Tennessee--had we won--'01, Tennessee '98, Florida '96, Florida '95, Alabama '92, for examples.) It is not like it is a huge step from one to the other. Win the SEC, and unless you are Auburn, you will probably get your chance at bigger game.

SEC East in hoops is also getting very challenging. You have the defending National Champs that couldn't even win the east last yr.

I agree it's going to really hard to win consistently against Meyer, Richt, and Spurrier.

I think next years going to be a great opportunity to sweep 'em..

GA- still hasn't found a QB
SC- Spurrier's still building
FL- Tebow's (the x factor)

If we can establish a running game, and Ainge's has half the improvement he had from '05 to '06, I like our chances.

Well, against UF, Tebow will run about 25 QB draws, and we will still look dazed and confused.

If there was a year to sweep all of them, this year was it. Next year, Georgia may not have a set quarterback, but they will be farther along in the process than they were this year. Next year, I think is when Spurrier finally starts turning some heads. And Tebow is going to be a big problem for alot of teams, us included. Add to it that Ainge is going to be depleted at wide reciever if Meachem and Smith leave, i dont see things getting much better.

i have no idea why you're laughing. what he said is not far from the truth. in case you haven't noticed, we haven't won an SEC title in 8 years.
Given oklavol's posts the last few days, I'm pretty sure that was an agreeing laughter...

I'm banking on Meachem staying..
The other big IF is can we establish a running game....That's the key..

Better sweep 'em next season...I have this feeling that the ole ball coach will have South Carolina at the top of the SEC East within 2 or 3 seasons. The talent is starting to look at SC and its just a matter of time before they surpass UGA and UT and eventually UF. Its coming..its just a matter of how soon.

Remember, he is THAT GOOD of a footbal coach to get it done sooner rather than later.

i thought he was humorous the way he stated it.
i don't think the majority of fans believe UT doesn't have a chance of winning an NC in the next 10 yrs.

Don't get me wrong, I think the coaching staff had a nice turnaround this year. Obviously Cutcliffe and Trooper did a phenomenal job with the areas they coached.

just considering Fulmers salary already, i dont think a raise is in order unless he gets UT back to the SEC champ game or a BCS game. To me its synonymous with lowered expectations.

Many teams who win the SECG are in the running for the NCG. So winning the first one gives a SEC team a good chance for the other.
