SEC East vs SEC West

Had this debate today. Are we better than the SEC West in any of the men's sports? Definitely not in football or baseball. I know we do not break into divisions in basketball, but if we were then we clearly were the weaker division in basketball this year, but I think we would not be in many other years. Unsure about other men's sports. Thoughts?

Women's Volleyball...It isn't split into divisions. But, if it were, 5 of the top 6 are from SEC East teams.

Basketball, national championships alone are proof of that. Last year was an anomaly, but I’d be hard pressed to call the west better than the East in basketball in a typical year.

I'm not sure that if 1 versus 1, 2 versus 2, etc that the East wouldn't win 4-3 in football. Bama is the 900# Gorilla right now but # 2 through #6 in the East each year would be competitive with the West, and in any given year Vandy might shock somebody.

Kentucky vs. aTm - aTm
Tennessee vs. Auburn - Toss Up
Mizzou vs. Ole Miss - Ole Miss
South Carolina vs. Mississippi St. - Toss Up
Vandy vs. Arky - Arky

Note opponents are based on recent results, not historic. Super thin line in my Kentucky, Mizzou, Tennessee spots, but I think my list is reasonably fair. Based on this list, I put the west at 4-3 and potentially 6-1 the east is at best (my opinion 3-4.

This year, East is as good if not better in baseball. Vandy is the best SEC team, I believe. Ark might be next. Then it’s a shuffle with Tenn, Fla, MSU, OM. Aub is the worst team. Mizzou& Alabama could be next worst. Sc, Ga, Ky & LSU are together.

Traditionally, SEC hoops is dominated by the East.
