SEC East is equal to the SEC West

96 Vols 10-2 playing a much stronger schedule than the 96 Tigers 4-7. Body of work has to be considered.

True, but the 96 vols lost to the 96 Memphis tigers, so in the 4 quarters the tigers were given to prove they were better than the 96 vols, they did.

Disagree all you want, wont change my mind. The whole premise is that head ti head is all that matters and all the talk shouldn't. Western Michigan should be given the chance to prove the it on the field, if they fail, fine but they are undeafeated in Div 1A. People can say Tennessee was better than Memphis because xyz...better than USC in 16 because xyz but when they had a chance to prove it, they didnt.

Vandy beat Ole Miss
Florida beat LSU
Kentucky beat Mississippi State
Georgia beat Auburn
Missouri beat Arkansas

Alabama beat TN
Texas AM beat TN
Alabama beat Kentucky
South Carolina lost to both west opponents

Yes, Alabama is better than anyone in the east, but also no one in the west or even the country is close to Alabama.

If the west is better than the east, it isn't by much. Glad the gap is finally narrowing. (Even though we lost to both west opponents :-/)

Interesting points. In defense of Tennessee

Vandy @ home beat ole miss
Georgia @ home beat auburn
Missouri @ home beat arkansas
Flordia beat lsu (lsu choked in 4th straight sec game, they were exhausted, but nobody is saying that)

FLORIDA IS OVERRATED!!!!!!!!!!

We beat AtM @ Neyland in my opinion
We see it everyyear the west beats the crap out of each other. I love how we get the hot west team each year plus alabama.

A little off topic, but with it being rivalry week it became apparent to me again. I'm so glad Tennessee is in the SEC and one of the historical juggernauts of the conference. But when I see these teams like Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, etc. that are able to prepare for 2-3 weeks for every big game they have it pisses you off. For example you have to play Ohio State or Michigan, but you get Rutgers, Illinois, Purdue, and Indiana. In the ACC, you might have to play Louisville or Clemson, but you can warm up with Wake Forest, Syracuse, and Virginia. Their schedule is not as tough week in week out. They have weeks to key in on and prepare for one big game, then after they can rest and relax for a week or two until the next one.

Now I know the SEC is down overall as far as W-L records, but we still have 10 bowl eligible teams. Also, I do not care how the teams have played, the SEC still has some of the most talented and deep rosters in the country. So any given Saturday you're going to get the best out of a team. Even playing the bottom SEC teams you're going up against highly recruited/talented guys and each week grinds teams down and the injuries, fatigue, etc continues to rack up. There isn't the luxury of taking a few games off in the SEC or getting rest since the competition is so much steeper week in week out.

Louisville is better than Kentucky. I know this because everyone told me they were

C'mon, man.

For your overall argument to be true, at no time in the history of athletic competition did an inferior team beat a superior team.

That's just not true and you know it's not true.

In 1980, the US Olympic Hockey team was not better than the one fielded by the Soviet Union. Members of that U.S. team would be the very first ones to tell you. But, the Miracle on Ice occurred.

These things happen. We call them "upsets". It's why sports is the ultimate reality TV. You don't know what's going to happen. It's why we watch.

But, please stop pretending that the concept that an inferior team can beat/has beaten superior teams is completely foreign to you.

Besides, my argument is that teams should not be kept from the opportunity to play for a championship just because everyone says other teams are better.

Tennessee is a better team than Vandy. I know they are cause everybody told me they were.

Oh BTW, I checked all the polls today and didn't see Tennessee, what happened?
I also didn't see them projected for the Sugar Bowl anymore? I guess when you lose games, you are not as good as people say you are.

As much as I like this conference, I'm starting to think the reality this season is that outside of Alabama, everyone in it is pretty bad.
