SEC East Champs

SEC East Champs is silly, nobody counts those. 121 will win the East but won't be Champs until they win the SEC.

Meh they all do.

And if you're Ole Miss, you even count the times you tied for the division:

do not bet the farm, there has been a lot of turn over this last year. we have lots of problems too, thin or no plying time at RB,LB,WR,QB,DL.. yes we add coaches to try and plug the holes, that does not mean they will. we could lose 4 games with a good team. can we stop the run LB,DL questionable. can we move the ball and not turn it over ,RB QB questionable. even if you can will you beat GT.,FL.AL.,MI.,KY., on the road. GA.,SC. VD,LSU at home. it could be done but Jones is not the General .

It's going to happen. 1. Florida's defense is rapidly regressing and depth is a MAJOR concern. Mac's offenses are awful and the guy is recruiting Zaire from ND since he can't develop the QBs he initially signs. Offense has a few playmakers but QB will dictate everything.

Georgia is very young. Eason is a future #1 pick 2 but he has no offensive line. 3.RBs are solid but injury riddled and Georgia always finds a way to ruin their season one way or another. 4. Their defense is also soft and 5.their line isn't as mature as deep as ours.

Barring injuries this offense could be very good. Our oline could dominate the 2 schools I mentioned above. UT has 6-8 solid guys on the OLine and idk if either of those schools will be able to slow down, Jelly. Over the course of the games our OLine could wear down the defenses while we still have a solid 2-3 backups in case starters need a breath.

The OLine has cost us a few games the last few years but I believe this year it could be the exact opposite.

10-2 SEC East Champs. Wait on it.

1. What makes you the expert on UF's defense? So UF has no D depth? Is that right? Proof?

2.UGA has no OL? Again, where do you come up withy this stuff? Proof?

3. UGA RB's are "solid", really, you think?

4. UGA D is "soft". If their D is soft, UT wants some of that softness. Look at their stats and see what is coming back. Soft? JC where do you get thhis stuff.

5. "UGA line isn't as mature and deep as ours", read number 4, wash and repeat.

Since it's been several years since the Vols won an on-field football championship, I will happily count the East if it happens in 2017. I will then raise my expectations accordingly.

You don't have muschamp defensive depth anymore bro. Your 1st stringers are solid but what about behind that? Lots of players who have yet to prove anything or to play a snap of D1 ball.

Isn't Mac an offensive guy?

All true. But in the spring game, even the second team defensive line looked good against the first team OL. A 248# walk-on LB played DT and consistently broke into the backfield. Hard to make sense of it all.

So basically it sounds like you're in the same position as you've been in since Mac arrived but just no proven depth behind your starters on D.

Your OLine was atrocious last year and for your sake if the second team defense if whipping their tails you're going to really have to rely on your D, again. Except this time if someone gets hurt, Mac can't rely on Muschump's gold mine of defensive studs bc it dried out.

I just don't see how much is getting 0 production out of his offenses. Wasn't he Saban's OC before ?

Where is this "Florida has no depth on D" myth coming from?
Don't they always have depth on D?

My bowl pick ems were ruined because they had some friggen true freshman LBs play lights out.

Georgia's OL is typically overrated, so I definitely get that assumption. And their defense was surprisingly weak last season too.

I don't think Kirby has a cohesive unit on the field yet.

But year 2 is when great coaches typically make a big leap.

As to the OP.........

Pumping sunshine preseason doesn't actually have any affect on how many games are won.

Good points, but things are not always what they seem. More later.

Tons of Gator fans agree exactly with your point of view. I am just not certain. You see the thing is that all spring games are against yourself. On tape the LB/DT looks extremely quick and 248# might be last year's weight. If he is as good as he looked in this game, then we may be two deep in good DTs. We are two/three deep in good DEs and LBs are shaping up as well. As I say, lots of fans think that you are exactly correct; I am just not sure until we play you guys or at least Meatchicken.
