Think about it

We lose to Oregon, Bama, LSU, and South Carolina
South Car. loses to Aub, Bama, FL, and Georgia
Florida loses to TN, LSU, and Bama
Georgia loses to TN, FL, and Auburn

We are in!!!

I know this seems far fetched especially with our issues with our roster, but in 2004 and 2007 we were going to have supposed down years and backdoored into the Championship game. If there is ever going to be a year when someone gets into the Championship game with 4 losses and 3 in conference this is the year.

Just tossing that out as a possibility and remember our last four SEC Championship game appearances were in 1998, 2001, 2004 and 2007...so 2010???

Go Vols!!

I needed a good laugh. Were going to be the 4th or 5th best team in the East next year.

Sure UT could fall to 5th in the east easily. But the OP was pointing out that UF could easily lose three SEC games next year, and if UT could pull off a few upsets, it could win the east despite lossing several games.

Okay...

I'm all for us throwing out the "what if's" and "could be's". But when will we be able to connect ourselves to reality and accept what "will" happen?

Hopefully soon, because the sooner we connect back to reality the sooner we can accept our coach, the team and our immediate future for what it is...

I can't emotionally handle anymore coaching changes because you people can get a grip on reality...

Well if you've seen my other thread about our roster depletion I know this isn't very likely, just a scenario that isn't completely far fetched. LSU and Bama are almost automatic losses for this team. Florida is early enough in the season and at home where we are still very likely to lose but we have a chance to win. Then if we can just upset Georgia, we can still easily have 4 losses and make it to the Championship game.

The main point I am trying to make is that all 4 SEC East teams with reasonable chances to win the division have 4 or 5 very possible losses.

don't see the vols winning "tween the hedges" with all the holes your 1st year coach with his entirely new system has to fill. It may be closer than I think but I'm willing to bet that a true freshman QB will not beat Granthams 3-4 defense.....especially in Athens. Bray or (lol!) Nance will never know where the blitz will be coming from. This one could get ugly for you vols...real quick.

Heres to hoping UGA gets more than 19 next year.

You had better hope Bray isn't ready because when he is he will dominate UGA for years...UT has never had problems with UGA in athens...We call it Neyland south...Remember this past season with that other coach we had?...He was a nightmare for you guys and wasn't even that good of a coach...Dooley is a better coach IMO and he should have no problem easily defeating UGA for years to come...Remember, We are STILL Tennessee :clapping:

Here is what I hear..... blah blah despair. Blah blah blah lost this season. Blah blah 45-19.

Stephens will be the QB---Sims the backup.

Give it a rest. It's still to early to make any predictions. Wait a few months until spring practice has started and the orange and white game has taken place. Then and only then will any of us be able to have an idea where this team will finish.

There is no scenario under the sun in which UT wins a SEC championship, much less the East, in 2011. Book it.
