He's just making a point. A valid one. UT did not beat an FBS team with a winning record in 2025. That's a serious point of concern moving forward.

I think he's reacting to those here who thought everything was okay last year, when to any reasonable observer...it was not.

UT has made changes in an effort to address that issue. But the SEC is tougher now than it was then. And there remain question marks about how all of these new pieces will work together.

Yes, there's such a thing as beating the drum too long, or too loudly...but you are what your record says you are, and right now UT is coming off an 8-5 season where (see above).

I don't know a single Vol football fan that thought "everything was okay last year." Not a single one. And damn near all of 'em that I know personally realized changes had to be made...........and they were. Yes, he's made a valid point.....countless times........like beaten' a dead horse.

Maybe because you go out of your way to make it known in other threads that have nothing to do with the fact that we didn’t beat a team w/ a winning record. We weren’t a a CFP team for sure, but we also were a very competitive team should’ve beaten 2 CFP teams. It’s disappointing bc I liked that squad last season. I think they were a good group, but we just weren’t there defensively. If we’re healthy at corner we beat UGA by 2 scores. That’s a hill I’ll die on.

Valid. My point to this specific thread is that had we had a D last year that would have been good enough to beat a team or two in D1 with winning records, this year’s D or D coordinator would not have been ranked so low.

I repeat that in other threads because of its relevance in those threads.

We should probably have banners that read, “Never forget”.
