SEC Country ranks Vols OL worst in SEC

I love the two guys we are bringing in this year, Smith and Locklear.

Everybody knows Smith has All-American/first round potential, but go watch the Senior tape on Riley Locklear. That kid is way under rated. If he'd come out of Atlanta or Orlando, he'd be a top 247 player.

My evidence other than tape? Check the offers:

* Florida State and Penn State wanted him real bad.

* He held an offer from Oregon, speaking to his athleticism as a potential PAC 10 spread OL, AND an offer from Michigan State, speaking to his strength potential as B1G road grader. He's the total package.

* The rest of his offer list ain't chopped liver, including Ole Miss and Miami.

Future is bright on the OL.

Now that Mahony is history, what would be the excuse if our OL sucks again? I mean its actually hard for me to believe that UK, Mizzou and Vandy can have a better OL than us. Thats just a failure on a universal scale.

Well I am not going to be disturbed because of the opinion of Oliver Connolly. WTH is he anyway?

Last year, it seemed like they opened with injuries on the OL. And they had improved from the season before despite the injuries. We just needed them to be a whole lot better to live up to expectations.

I felt Mahoney was an excellent magician. He could take a 4 and 5 star line recruit and make him disappear from the depth chart. He had a red shirt year to prepare a highly rated Drew Richmond, and how he performed is a big reason why Mahoney's final trick was to make himself vanish, and the crowd gave a standing ovation. I think everyone knows Drew Richmond is a much better player than he was last season, and I blame Mahoney.

Some are excited about Wells and some are critical. However, the reactions have been pretty predictable by the nega and sunshine pumper labels. I just hope Wells gets this position group to the next level, and Rock's workouts keep them healthy. If they aren't up to the task, what the rest do doesn't matter.

We need to rethink to the size of our players.. lighter players does get great push in short yardage

I agree with that, but when you are trying to run a no huddle hurry up, how can you make substitutions? You would lose yardage on delay of game or 12 men in the huddle penalties. Good point, but I don't think it really helps us unless they slow everything down.
