Vandie STILL sucks. Felt good writing that. Small Mike/ Cosby Cattleman agrees.

Orgeron is negotiating an extension, so his will most likely increase significantly in the near future.

If one can ever land on the coaching carousel as an analyst, graduate intern and slowly work their way to a position coach and then upward, then the sky is the limit financially. The irony is that you don't have to be a top-quartile coach either. You can be very middle-of-the-road (with similar results) and still make more money than most annually - and more money in one year than many do in a lifetime. This just reflects our value system however. Our society is willing to pay quite a bit to be entertained (with entertainment being defined as good - or as last night's Super Bowl pointed out.....bad).

Saban is worth every dime and then some. Most of college football coaches are worth 25% of what they are making. The coaching gap is that wide. Was Jones or Dooley worth half of what Saban was paid? Hell NO! They werent close to being half as good. Both left the program in worse shape than they found it. Say the same for many of the others.

Gus has to be the most favored to get bought out? Looking at their 2019 schedule, I can see 5 losses...splitting w/ Oregon and UF, probable losses to TaM, LSU, GA, Bama. Not sure 7-5 or even 8-4 will cut it for Auburn brass.
Aug. 31: vs. Oregon (in Dallas)
Sept. 7: vs. Tulane
Sept. 14: vs. Kent State
Sept. 21: at Texas A&M
Sept. 28: vs. Mississippi State
Oct. 5: at Florida
Oct. 19: at Arkansas
Oct. 26: at LSU
Nov. 2: vs. Ole Miss
Nov. 16: vs. Georgia
Nov. 23: vs. Samford
Nov. 30: vs. Alabama

While true, it's also a very top heavy system. These are near the top of the top. How many hundreds or thousands of d2, d3, high school coaches pour their life into football to make a petty amount?

These guys have also worked 80 hour weeks as long as theyve known and been on the road more than around their own family. It's quite the sacrifice.
