SEC Bowl projections

Interesting article. the #1 and #2 teams havent done that well this season.

I think even if TN loses they would get a better bowl than the chick-fil-a bowl as long as they are at least competitive.

I think the only one that would make sense is Outback, but you were there last year so I wonder if maybe the bowl committee would want someone else.

The thought of Missouri-West Virginia for the national championship makes me want to take a nap.

" LSU, with a victory over Tennessee on Saturday in the SEC title game, will be 11-2 with two triple-overtime losses."

How's that for disrespect? Shouldn't that be would be, or am I just being overly sensitve. I interpret it as saying there is no chance for UT.

LOL, I think you are reading too much into the guy's choice of words. After this past weekend (and really the whole season), I don't think right now you can count anyone out of anything.

And two weeks ago I was saying you would get smoked by LSU if you got there. Can't say that anymore I don't think.

First I've seen of these. Apologize if posted elsewhere. For UT, looks like its New Orleans or Atlanta. Glad I bought my Cap One tix a month ago. Going to be a tough ticket with the Tebow show coiming to Orlando.

You are probably right LG but the SEC has more to say in who and where after it gets past the Cap. 1

After All BCS teams are selected the SEC has this for the other bowls for the SEC.

The Capital One (2nd), will then make its pick following the BCS selections. The bowl must select the team with the next best overall record or a team that is within one win of the team with the next best overall record. The Outback, Chick-fil-A and AT&T Cotton Bowls will work with the conference office to determine picks 3-5. The Cotton Bowl has the first preference of teams from the Western Division and the Outback Bowl has first preference of teams from the Eastern Division. The Cotton or Outback Bowl can select teams outside of its divisional preference, but must not select them before the opposite bowl selects from its divisional preference. The Chick-fil-A Bowl has the selection of preference following the Cotton and Outback Bowls.

ESPN hates us, we play better as the underdog, and so on and so forth.

Yada yada yada, I had to take a cab home.

The Florida-Illinois matchup is intriguing...but does Illinois really have a shot against Florida?

Sure. I am just not surprised by anything this season. I'm kind of numb to the fact that literally anybody in the top 40 teams is competitive with everyone else.

I thought the Tebow train had been derailed...

Is Superman going to make a miraculous recovery from that broken hand?

Of course...I'm amazed that any of us even know his hand is broken....I was sure that if he ever broke anything on his body, that body part would be too afraid to let him know it was broken :)

Right now we have identical records of 9-3. If you win the SEC, its obviously a moot point. But if you lose the SECCG, I would think that the Capital One Bowl would pick Florida for all of the obvious reasons. Ranked higher, in state team with huge fanbase here, haven't been here for a few years, etc.

Maybe Fulmer can give him some magic dust to sprinle on it and heal it?

This season I would say everyone has a shot to win. I would think Florida would win that one. However I thought LSU would beat arkansas , Michigan would beat appy state, the list goes on and on. So this year I would definatley not discount Ilinois

Does anybody know the selection order of the Cotton, Outback, and Peach?

I figure UGa is probably BCS bound with the winner of the CG, and Florida is probably set for Orlando. That leaves 8-4 Auburn, 8-4 Arkansas, and, with a loss, 9-4 UT for the three above, with 7-5 Kentucky, 7-5 MSU and .500 Bama and SC for the Independance, Liberty, Music City, and a hope that some other conference can't fill it's allotment.

The Cotton favors West teams, the Outback had us last year, and they both pay about the same as the Chicken Bowl, so I think Atlanta is a good bet if we lose, but the order in which they pick could make a difference there (i.e. the Outback could get us again if the other two pick first.)

Oh I know you guys are there in Orlando. That one is a given and they can take you guys and have all but said they are. The others are the ones which will decide our fate shuold we get beat in the SECCG

It would seem to me that the Outback would be happy to get the Vols, but you did play therer last year. Then again you guys travel great and it would surely sell out with UT.

Now, if you win the SECCG, then that would screw everything up for me and my Cap One tix. I'd figure UGA gets a BCS at large (maybe even backs into the NT game) and LSU drops to Cap One, Florida to Outback.

Considering the article was surely proofread and edited as they normally are, I think the choice of words was intentional in conveying the writers opinion.

I agree re LSU game chances, I think we will make a good account of ourselves.

Like I said -- from 1 through 40, not much difference this year.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The CG loser usually doesn't have a rosy glow about them and has a tendency to fall farther than expected on the list of desirable bowl teams. LSU could very well end up in the Cotton, Outback, or Peach with a loss.
