I don't see how we could be that low on all of those lists considering we're not as low as those other teams on the class rankings on rivals.

Part of this is due to our class being very well balanced. Other than O-line and DB we don't have more than 2-3 commits at any positions.

Positional rankings love to take depth into account moreso than top flight talent. It's not the most trustworthy measure of things.

I think you're right. UT's DBs should be higher but 2 of their DBs were listed as athletes so they did well in that category instead.

Regardless of the rankings, I like our class a lot. Lots of good players who will make the team and stay in school and form a nucleus of talented leaders over the next couple of years. This is exactly what we needed.

I think that coupled with the fact that, of those 2-3 players we signed at each position, they weren't ranked as high with the recruiting services as they were with our staff.

I have faith in this staff, I just hope their rankings turn out to be more accurate than Rivals, Scout, et al.

list is about half right. UT should be at number one in DB, number 3 in Qb, and number 4 in DT. You could make the case for DE, but then our LB ranks should be lower.

hilarious considering that they didn't count the tight end position in this category...

edit: didn't realize that they're only counting the recruits

Signing one legit(hopefully) DT puts them right about where they should be. The rest of it is debatable.

Cameron Clear is pretty much best TE in country and only translates to #10 in sec rankings..please

We averaged about 6th-7th on every position rank.

We had the 6th best class in the SEC according to rivals.

Makes sense to me.

He isn't the best TE in the nation by any services and he has a much higher ceiling as an offensive tackle. He would likely not even be in the Rivals250 if Rivals listed him as a TE rather than OT.
