SEC 2007-2008 Predictions

Fulmer sounds pretty giddy about this year's team. Moreso than last year. I don't think our passing game will be down much thanks to Hancock, O'Neil, and Vinson. I also think that our running game will improve because all of our running backs (with maybe the exception of Coker) have taken big steps this spring. I Think we are better than we think. Not to mention the d-line improvement.

I think you are right. The Vols have one more question to answer. I think the DL will be a big surprise to most people. Mapu was very, very good before leaving. There is no good reason to believe that he won't return to form after having a year to get in shape. The DE's sound very good. The question mark is still depth at DT and whether Williams or Bolden will really step up.

The one remaining question is who will step up at WR. They only really need two guys with the TE's and backs that are available.

FTR, I doubt Fulmer will ever make the mistake of being too optimistic again.

The SEC was up this year, but will be down in 07. UT has the best shot in the East since we have the best QB in the league and he is a Sr. Not to mention UF and UGA have young QB's. Stafford looked to be overrated to me last year. I would have to pick LSU in the West. Even though they lost Russell, they still have very good QB's. Bama, AU, and Ark. have very average QB's.

To show you how good the SEC was last year; Fla. won the NC, but was very lucky against LSU, UT, and USC.

the bolded team has a good QB

He is more athletic than Jay Barker; for a Bama QB he is very good. But he will never be mistaken for Manning, Shuler, Martin, or EA.

I think he might have a better 2007 statistically than Ainge, honestly. And he was a sophomore.

True because he wears a crimson helmet. Bama's offense was handcuffed because of pathetic OL play and horrendous redzone offensive playcalling.

Watch, this year John Parker Wilson will lead the most prolific passing attack in the SEC, maybe the country.

DJ Hall and Brown will have better numbers than DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins.

:yikes:

RECEIVING REC YDS AVG TD
DJ Hall 62 1056 17.0 5
Keith Brown 44 590 13.4 3

RECEIVING REC YDS AVG TD
DeSean Jackson 59 1060 18.0 9
Lavelle Hawkins 46 705 15.3 5

Comparable certainly. Jordon is poised to have a good year for Cal though, could cut down on jackson and hawkins numbers.

edit: bamas 3rd reciever compared to Cal
Robert Jordan 46 571 12.4 4
Will Oakley 18 223 12.4 0

I hope you're right...but it all hinges on the OL play. We have the QB, WRs, RBs and even the TEs to have a pretty good O...I'm just not sold on the line yet, though CNS has said good things about them. We don't get a lot of practice and scrimmage info now that CNS is here.

After the 07 season Alabama's duo will have better numbers than Cal's. That is what I was implying. Third receivers have no merit in this arguement

I was agreeing with you since jordon will likely take some receptions from hawking and jackson. that was my point.
