Has anyone else noted the worse we do and the hotter Butch's seat got, the number of posts has gone down? Are we all so sick and tired of the of the whole situation we have developed a group sense of apathy?

Nobody comes to viewing parties or alumni group lunches lately. So tired of seeing us lose games, players, and recruits.

I agree. Many I know have already accepted mediocrity and have essentially given up

Not sure what you're basing that on. Our traffic has been just fine.

Basing that opinion on what I see when I log on. Maybe the views are the same but the replies seem down.

Nobody seems to give a crap about UT football anymore. Several people I know that have donated and had season tickets for years are saying "no more" and are giving away or selling their current game tickets and spending Saturdays doing other things. Sad times.

Part of that perception could be that there are not a lot of original thoughts going on right now. We're having to merge a lot of threads.

We are a traditional powerhouse that has completely lost its way. In 2009 or 2010, we were bad but we KNEW we would comeback. Now, everyone from regular fans all the way up to the top don’t believe we can compete with high level programs. Once Georgia takes control of the East we will just accept our butt whipping from them, Florida and Bama and say...”they do it to every other (uncompetitive) team.”

We are Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Miss State, and South Carolina battling out for the basement and praying we get lucky at the end of games rather than having the ability to win without a miracle.

I have not accepted it, but I have accepted the fact we are. But I don't think asany as you think have accepted it. Many of us are just so numb to these losses that we aren't caring as much anymore. Shoot, the big players who control where this program goes doesn't seem to.

By no means are we mediocre. Auburn is mediocre, LSU (beaten by MSU and Troy) is mediocre, Florida is mediocre. We are an embarrassment to mediocre. Mediocre teams would be offended to be classified with us. We would lose 9 out of 10 games to any of those teams.

This. Not much in terms of variety to talk about while the program’s literally on fire with a lame duck head coach and little hope of winning any meaningful games remaining on the schedule.

We will see the next few home games. I’d say you will see lots of empty seats.

Most people don't like misery. For some reason a lot of us keep coming back to check for any good news and end up venting about our frustrations. Visiting Volnation when the morale is this low is like punching yourself in the face.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I've been apathetic since UMass

No, just drunker and that alone doubles the post time. Others are so drunk they forget what they planned on posting before they.............. Wait what was I going to post again?

Kicking off like 7000 posts every few days in the Gruden thread, not sure where people are getting that people aren't posting.

I log on as much as I ever have and I can't even keep up with that thread, much less even bother with most of the new ones.

NEw lease on life since I stopped watching Vols and NFL. Nice to have free weekends without wasting time watching football and spending more quality time with the family. Thank God for the Preds.
Other people probably will discover the joy of football free lives and the popularity will decline permanently. We will see.

This was the first time I made zero effort to watch the Bama game. I was out with the fam until close to half time. Turned it on when we got home but continued doing things around the house only checking on the game every now and then.

I suffered through the Dooley era but this has become unbearable.

The Gruden threads (yes multiple) prove that theory to be wrong.

Not true at all. I actually am a frequent poster there and it’s really the same 30 people posting repeatedly. That thread is also popular because it is a whimsical comedic hopeful thread. I suspect the vast majority hope we get a kelly/ Gruden level coach but truly don’t expect it
