Season tickets sold

So DW is not accomplishing his goals because people are unenthusiastic with the hire?
That 8000 goal is for 26-27. This coming year is 24-25, two years before then, so I would be happy that the sales seem to be well ahead of schedule. If the LVs start winning games, big games, then there is no reason that goal can't reach over 10000 by that year. (Maybe next year, which would be 25-26}

Throughout my 71 years on Earth, this seems to be the golden age for Tennessee athletics. Best all around that I can remember, although my memory is fading. Enjoy it because you never know when something will go wrong (sorry, a little BVS slipped out momentarily).
Public perception is that we have a bunch of great administrative people and coaches in place. Let's roll! GBO.

I’m really excited to see if she can put some butts in the seat. Idk why, but I really want our attendance to get back to what it was back in the day. I don’t think we can get close to South Carolina with the price point of their tickets, but at least get to # 2 in attendance.

Anyone have other season numbers for comparison?

The number doesn’t include premium seating, which is sold out, so it’s closer to 9,000.

I’d be interested to know if they’re going to try to sell out everything except the corners in the lower bowl before opening up mid court upstairs. I had heard they were only doing renewals in the upper deck until the lowers sell, but I haven’t checked.

Attendance was already on the rise the last couple of years which was surprising. Not sure how many were season tickets, but crowds of 8 or 9 thousand for weekend SEC games was already happening. Big games like SC and LSU were getting 12-15 I believe. So really not that far off from getting 10K for SEC games, esp on weekends. Weekday games, esp at 6 or 6:30 are tough though, usually around 7K. Hopefully attendance will continue to rise bc it really does make a difference in game atmosphere.

Think about Yo having to shame and beg for 3,000 and Sam P wetting his pants over 5,000 and you realize how lucky we are. It has to help with recruiting.

Can't wait to see the schedule, should be soon.

I can't find attendance by game, but I see this:
Tennessee garnered 133,196 fans across its 15 home contests in women's basketball, at an 8,880 average.

Upward and onward!

As a fellow 71 year old, I don't remember a time when all Tennessee sports were cruising along at the level they are now. I hope Danny White doesn't leave in my lifetime.

I’d have to dig around but I believe season tickets were in the 6,000 range.

Coach Lazo made a post that makes me think they were inflating attendance numbers though.

Maybe it was a shot at another school but kinda seemed like it might have been a subtle shot at the previous staff. No way to know.

1998 with a reminder nod.
Football team and WB winning national titles. Men’s basketball under 2nd year Jerry Green, win the SECE.

The smaller sports then have emerged now to competitors.

Every woman's program, including LVs before and now, inflate ticket sales and attendance. Many tickets are and have been given away. In fact, my very first thought on seeing the current sales is I'm not surprised bc there's no possibility the AD could have them drop this year. That's not a criticism, it's a smart and helpful thing to do. Its possible big donors were enouraged to buy a few extra sets to help numbers. There's also resellers, which frustrating as they are, it's a good thing if resellers think LV tix are a good investment.

That's not discounting excitement and renewed interest which are obviously a factor as well. But my experience has been you can tell alot more about interest by actual attendance, though that is often enhanced too with giveaway and heavily discounted tickets.

Bottom line, attendance was already really good in the scope of WBB. and was going up. It's great if it oontinues to go up with continued success. I'd love a steady 10-12K, those are really fun crowds.

Hopefully he stays till a ripe old retirement age. Don't think I will get to see his replacement, but doubt it will matter to me at that point. LOL.

I know for a fact that a lot more older people would go to more games if so many of the best seats weren't already scooped up, and often left unoccupied on game day, by folks/entities who've bought them for resale only.

They'll decide to go, and then once they look at the seating chart online it appears nothing much at all is available in the lower bowl, but if they ever do go to a game after begrudgingly purchasing a seat higher up, they get frustrated and angry when they look down below them and see row after row after row of empty seats in the lower bowl. So they say, "I can see the game better on TV" and don't go back.

I have heard this from people many, many times.

😢
