Danny White said he would be using a search firm to look for the coach. Im paraphrasing. But he said something to the effect he would be using it for confidentiality. If thats true....

Do you guys believe these rumored candidates are leaked from the coaches or agents? Or do you think the search firm has leaks? If so then can you recoup some of the money for not keeping it hush hush if they let the information break confidentiality.

I think this AD hire caught the local media by surprise, especially those who charge $9.99 to share information. They don't know what to do right now. I take Danny White at his word when he says the football team will be the first to know and all of these people reporting names are just FOS.

The search firms email communication with coaches and agents arent subject to FOIA requests. An AD's would be. See John Currie with Dan Mullen

Any communication between UT and the search firm would be subject to the FOIA but them reaching out to coaches wouldn't give the behind the scenes look we saw with Currie and that goat rodeo search.

As I understand it, UT would have nearly three weeks to respond to FOIA. That response wouldn't need to include the actual material requested. Short term, FOIA wouldn't be an issue. The search would be long over before UT had to release records.

Probably 90% of the coaches that interview have no intention of taking the job...The agents job is to get their clients a raise each year so they float the coaches name in the media so it seems like they are a hot commodity.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

DW did say he would use the search firm for confidentiality. However, he also mentioned the elephant in the room - social media. He hopes to tell the team first. But, their Twitter accounts may tell them first. A fact of life these days.
