Scrimmage Report Card!

B.J. Coleman is impressive enough in the pocket, but his lack of height (and thus, field vision) hurts.
Isn't Coleman like 6'3"?

That's what he's listed at -- but I don't buy it. Looked smaller in pocket -- Crompton was able to see over the line....

The real question is . . . Did Crompton look like he had a clue what he was looking at with that field vision?

"It's worth nothing incoming freshman will have an impact."

Might want to edit what looks to be a typo.

Is this the first scrimmage you've been to? Kinda late to be noticing how 'short' Coleman is.

After months of reading blogs I decided to join the fun. For my 2 cents worth I am very pleased with the sense of urgency this team has. They get it. Now we only need to plug in the studs that other schools have been getting into our system and Rocky Top will be rolling again. I believe we will win 10 this year with a shocker over either Bama or Florida.

O-Line is C-? Awful but expected. I would really love to see this position improve more than most others. If they can get it to a B level before the fall, our offense may not be terrible.

Second scrimmage I've seen this spring...Coleman has been running for his life or rolling out every other time I've really studied him....today was the first time I saw him in the pocket. Again, he looked good in the pocket, but I wondered about his size.

Crompton does look like he knows what he's doing -- because he does. Simplified scheme. More confidence where his receivers will be, and delivers the ball with more authority.

D. Moore just catches TD passes on deep balls. He does that in games too.

I'm not sure what else we want him to do.

Is Crompton the clear leader in the QB battle at this point?

We know that when the D was blitzing he looked like a cow at a new gate.

I still think BJ will end up beating him out.

And I don't care who wins the job but I just don't see SEC qb in the cards for Crompton.

I appreciate his effort and heart.

It's his head I'm concerned with.

The orange and white game will show witch QB can performe under game type situations, and a crowd of fans.It really comes down to who can handle the pressure. i've seen guys play above there head on game day, and i've seen guys play well below there ability because they just couldn't handle the pressure. It's like they weare a jock 3 sizes too small.

FTBLFAN does not have very nice things to say about our football team or it's staff!:cray:

Most people seem to think that Crompton is the leader for the job. By looking at the stats from last week's scrimmage and yesterday's scrimmage, I'm not sure how Crompton could be the leader. I know the stats don't mean much right now, and Crompton and Coleman are playing in different situations. Just saying...

Combined stats from the 2 scrimmages
Coleman
28-38 (74%) for 263 yards and 2 TDs

Crompton
17-27 (63%) for 181 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 2 Fumbles, and 1 Safety
