I got the following email today from the Ole Miss Ticket Office regarding my online purchase on June 7, 2009 for 2 sideline seats to the November 14 UT vs Ole Miss game in Oxford. My CC was billed in June, and I was given a confirmation number.

To Whom It May Concern:

Due to the high demand for season tickets, tickets for the Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU vs. Ole Miss games are unfortunately sold out. The Ticket Office will not be able to fill your order. We will be refunding you for the total amount of your order including all convenience fees. We apologize for this inconvenience. The method of payment used at the time of ordering will be reimbursed immediately. Again, we apologize for this inconvenience.

I really feel like I got screwed on this one as my money is not good enough for Ole Miss. Has anyone else heard or seen anything like this? I really feel like I got screwed on this deal.

You bought tickets and had a confirmation number yet they still hijacked your tix?
That is just wrong.

Ive heard of not selling to fans of other teams but not taking tickets that have been bought and giving them to someone else. That is ridiculous.

I have every intention of going, but you know how life is, so send me your email or something and if life gets in the way I will let you know...I am moving back from CA to TN if the job thing doesn't pan out quickly, unfortunately those go quickly too!

There has to be someone to contact on this. For instance if you have a dispute with a business you can contact the better business bureau. I would email ut and ask them who to contact and what to do.

Hey, the same thing happened to me. I had already paid for the tickets with my credit card. I guess contract law doesn't apply in the State of Mississippi.

I know a few Bama fans and the exact same thing happened to them. It's pretty obvious the Ole Miss ticket office sucks.

Wife bought me 4 tickets for fathers day. Ole Miss charged the credit card back in June and I still have not received my tickets. Guess I will be getting an email any day now. This really sucks!!!:furious3:

I would bet there is a clause in the fine print of the website where you ordered your tickets that gives their ticket office the authority to do this.

If so, you're probably out of luck as long as they provide a full refund in a timely manner.

It's bad PR with the fans they take the tickets from, but they understand that they aren't likely to get repeat business out of TN and Bama residents. Ole Miss fans, however, are likely to buy season ticket packages and/or buy more tickets next year.

Tennessee does the same thing in some instances, and it's perfectly legal.

You are essentially paying a deposit for a spot in line... but new season ticket holders get precedence when the tickets are finally shipped.

And yeah, they should have a better system... legal or not, it still sucks.

I know it sucks but I don't blame the schoolr for doing it, they got to keep the people that pump money into the program happy. I'd be pissed to if it happened to me but at the same time I could see their reasoning with it

Hey we can still flood their inbox with e-mails about what a--holes we think they are, and then ruin their day with a defeat on their home field.

An Ole Miss alum friend of mine bought us tickets online back in May and he hasn't heard anything like this from them...yet. I think the tickets on Gameday should be pretty easy to find by the time it rolls around and Ole Miss has already lost 4 games.
