Give me Hubbs, Nichols, and Crawford (I know he isn't on there) and I'm thrilled. Anyone else added on would be amazing.

We have 4 scholarships for sure available.

At this point my prediction would be...

Landry
Crawford
Nichols
Rimmer/Foster

However I do think that there's a good chance of landing hubbs/ Newkirk.

Do you think there's any chance there might be a "mutual parting of the ways" with Landry? His performances in EYBL have been fairly pedestrian to this point.

Highly doubt it'd be "mutual". Maybe we tell him thanks, but no thanks, but I doubt he would feel the same. Also, I don't see Martin doing that, he probably is realizing now to slow down on offers and that recruiting is better than he originally thought. Hell probably stick it out with Landry and hope he improves, but clearly there's some concern or we wouldn't be hounding Newkirk.

I'm surprised not to see Crawford on that list. And, wow, Johnson jumped up a lot.

The thing I like best about the list is definitely Kasey Hill's placement. :p

Yeah, "mutual" is just the way they try to paint it most of the time, even when it isn't. Best for all would be for Landry to get it going the rest of the summer. Seems like a good kid, but is a well below average shooter, and, for a good defender PG, gets almost no steals.

I hope we land Hubb's. He is from Northwest Tennessee in a the lil town of Newbern/Dyer County. He has some major talent! Their team colors are orange/white also and the people from this area bleed Volunteer orange! However, other major programs are after him and it won't be a slam dunk for his signature according to people from my hometown. We will see.

HUBBS 100% I live in Newbern and have seen this kid play multiple times. He's quick he can jump and he can shoot lights out. We need to keep this kid in O&W in a bad way.

Business is business. If CCM gets a better pg then Laudry will not see an orange uni. We've already seen he will make that decision with Washpun. Pearl made the same decision with Daniel West. Can't fault CCM. It's done by every coach in the game.

I hope we keep the guy, i like his game. Also steals dont make you a great defender.

The difference is both washpun and west were brought in and given scholarships. For all you know washpun may have chosen to leave, it may not have been CCM, has it been reported it was CCM and not washpun idea?

I'm not saying it won't happen, but I don't see it being likely. By that theory why didn't CCM tell Reese to go scratch? He's nowhere near the "level" that Landry is, and Reese clearly isn't at a position of necessity.

So who has CCM proven he will do that with? If he was willing to I don't think miller would be here, that guy won't even see the court next year, and as I mentioned above Reese as well. So who has CCM proven that he will do that with?

One difference with Reese and Landry is that Reese had already signed a scholarship, while Landry has not. Much less awkward to part with a kid before he has signed than after he has signed, but hasn't even had a chance to show what he has. See Matt Dotson as an example.

As for Landry's game, I didn't realize you'd seen him, so I will accede to your judgement there. I've just been going off his junior year, where his coach reported him averaging 7-8 ppg and the EYBL, where he's averaging 6/game and shooting 38% from the Field and 57 pct from the FT line. I get nervous when Tennessee signs high school kids like Travon and Reese who don't score double figures in high school. You are correct that you don't have to have steals to be a good defender, but steals are a trademark of many of the top defensive PGs, so it's always nice to see.

I agree with you that CM probably will ride it out with Landry. I think CM is a man of his word and would be extremely averse to walking away from a commit. We'll see if that serves him well in the cut throat world of recruiting. Hope so.

It will never be reported that a player is leaving a program because he is not good enough to be there. Usually, the official statement from the coach is that the player is high character and we wish the best of luck to him and he is leaving for more playing time. Exactly the case with Washpun. Nobody really thought Washpun was going to be back last season. He played in what 2 or 3 games the last 20 we played? Armani Moore gave his verbal to UT on 3/20/12. Giving UT 14 sholly players for the following year. Only 13 schollys available. We all knew someone was leaving. Washpun was granted his release less than a week later. Business is business.

So, IMO, I think Reese is given the same opportunity as Washpun. This is the best college offer he is going to get. But, if he doesn't develop the skills to play in the SEC quickly, then he could be granted his release also. It takes coaches at least 2 or 3 years to recruit these kids. They have to start when they are Freshman / Sophmores. I think CCM is trying to get on the top kids in the 2013 + class. But he still has to play until those kids are here. He still has to fill a roster. He was in on the Washpun's and Reese's when at MSU and they are an easy get now when all the cream of the crop is already committed to other schools for 2011 and 2012.

Miller could have been gone if someone better decided to come to UT.

Do you think if Charles decided to commit to UT he wouldn't be here? If so, mathmatically, someone would have to leave. CCM didn't stop recruiting Charles because his roster was full.

Thats not what I'm saying. Do you not think its possible that maybe washpun said hey I'm not getting get the minutes I want here, I'm gonna transfer. Maybe it wasn't CCM who brought it up first, maybe It was washpun, is this not plausible???

So you're saying keep offering these guys and if they don't show something after a year then part ways? Yet you're sitting here saying its very likely that CCM would rescind the offer to Landry. You're giving washpun and Reese the chance to keep their offer and prove themselves yet you're not giving Landry that opportunity? We could have definitely done without Reese this year, we have plenty of wings, so it's not like hell see the court this year anyways.

And we haven't offered Tobe Okafor because we don't have a scholarship for him, simple as that. He's better than miller yet we haven't offered, explanation?

Everyone here tries so hard to make their statements cut & dry. It just almost never works like that in the real world.
