Looks like Middle Tennessee. If it ain't Blount or Knox County it don't mean nothing.

I don't even recognize half these schools anymore. I know the Duck River Valley Conference has long since been replaced.

I think if you click on the link you can get East Tennessee scores.

South Pittsburg looks mean!

Alcoa whipped up on a middle Tennessee 6A team.
It took their offense a while, but the defense never allowed Blackman past the 50 yard line. The closest they got was with time expiring in the game.

Alcoa turned it over 4 times and still blew them out.
They have QB issues because the transfer of the QB from Catholic was denied. They are playing another transfer and a sophomore who will be a big time passing QB.

Jackson County 8, York Institute 0.

JC's first opening win in 3 years, in the rain, against one of the dirtiest teams you can play. Not a bad start to the season for a team that all but disappeared the last 2 years.

Was also surprised to see Cookeville rebound after 3 losses to Upperman, playing down 3 classes in a crosstown rivalry. Upperman has had the upper hand the last few years. Sure didn't see this one coming.

And just like that, Jackson County is 2-0 with a 44-26 beating of Sale Creek. We will find out if we are actually good next week when Westmoreland comes calling. We have not beat them in the 3 years we've been in the same region.

On a roll. Jackson County is now 4-1 in 2-A with a 1-A matchup against Monterey tonight, who is always a hard fighting team.

With a win at Cascade next week, JC would be locked into the playoffs. Our lone, unimpressive loss to Westmoreland has prevented us already securing a locked in spot.
