Considering that the 4 BCS games, and the National Championship game are pretty much always going to take the top 5, #9 is great.

We are in the top 5 non-bcs games.

That sounds about right. It is a great match up. I am so glad we aren't playing Northwestern in the Outback. That's a lose-lose if you ask me. Have fun in the #20 bowl Auburn.

did the nascar mogul guy really offer us 20million to play va tech???????? If so why in haites have we not played there? Thats a ridiculous payout to play one game.

Don't want to give up a home game, terrible view from a lot of the seats I'd imagine, can't do it anymore due to infield.

We would probably be #8 but WVU/FSU has interest mostly because Bowden's last game. Also, the Orange Bowl? Seriously? If it wasn't called the Orange Bowl nobody would watch it.

Nice that the only 2 SEC teams in front of us:good!: in the rankings are ones we gave a helluva game. 3rd highest ranked SEC team in bowl terms to watch is pretty darn good. GO GO LANE!

I read the infield to the track was so messed up that they couldn't go through with it at the time.

Hamilton went to Bristol and told Smith to show us the money and he could not put up. Smith thought that he would get the TV rights which are owned by the SEC. That could not happen. Just another case is someone letting their mouth overload their ......

I loved that the Outback bowl didn't want us. Now nobody wants to watch the Outback bowl now. Northwestern really? really? horrible game. Plus the bcs games are not that good .
They should have put florida against tcu. Atleast i would want to watch one bcs game that way. Hate ohio st, but i like to watch oregon cause we play them next year so dont care about that game. Boise and TCU rematch dont care. Georgia tech & Iowa boring Iowa is a joke. Florida & cin Kelly might not even be coaching in it so who cares. Alabama pretty much won the title when they beat FL, but i will still watch that game.

This was when they were gonna tear down the pits and garages anyway so it was completely plausible. You should have seen them get the dirt in and out a few years back for those races.,When TDOT was screwing around with 394 Smith asked them if they wanted to borrow some of his engineers. TDOT got it done then. And Smith was offering both schools 10 million.

Yes, it is. Having to invent contrived, non-football reasons to choose your bowl participant is a clear sign that the bowl needs to re-evaluate and re-align, which, thankfully, they will next year.

The Gator tying in with the SEC kills two birds with one stone, erasing the Weedeater Bowl from the conference slate and preventing a fairly historic NYD bowl from having to resort to 6-6 teams with retiring coaches to stay interesting.

Its the top bowl not matching two ranked teams (besides Bowden Bowl), and there are several games matching two ranked teams appearing below UT's game.
