Schiano denies knowledge of Sandusky

I attended to my first U.T. game in person 60 years ago, at the 1957 Gator Bowl. I think that I will stick with them, but it does feel almost hopeless at the moment.

As far as the hill to die on, I'm just trying to offer possibilities as to why Schiano shouldn't be condemned due to lack of solid facts. I don't think we know enough.

You got some decades on me. My first game, at Neyland, was in the 80's and I was just a wee HateSteve.

But, again I'm not condemning Schiano. He's potentially tainted by association. We can't afford that. Like you, I have no idea what happened.

Is there some compelling reason he is worth the risk as a coach?

No. I don't particularly want him as coach. He would be well down my list. I just hate to convict a man, not knowing enough facts.

I'm the one who said maybe the kid was 17 and enjoying it. I doubt if you would ask to card a naked 17 year old in the shower with your boss if you were Schiano. It has been reported that Sandusky's victims were between 8 and 17.

My point was that if the person was 17, and Schiano didn't card him or get a good look, that he just got the heck out of there. I didn't say that anybody should "just let it go." If, on the other hand, it was an 8 year old and he knew it, he should have stepped in. I don't know how old this victim was, do you?

Yea exactly you don't know........was he 15........was he 16? But you would know it was wrong no matter.

An old man in the shower with a teenager at the school where he worked....... IF it happened anyone would know it was wrong no matter the age of the kid.

Even if your in N.A.M.B.L.A. You know it's wrong......and know you should do something.

"Schiano denied any knowledge of abuse in an official statement on Tuesday: 'I never saw abuse, nor had reason to suspect any abuse, during my time at Penn State,' he said in a statement released by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Twitter."

Now, can we stop the negative rumors? I am not sold on him, but the anti-rumors are largely unfounded.

The Warren commission denies there was a second shooter. You really buying that?

Good game against Michigan, Greg. You still aren't getting hired at UT!

I will be willing to bet that the majority of people on this forum won't want whoever is hired. I would also be willing to bet that the ones who do want him, will want rid of him after 2 years.

Ill support anyone hired until they give me a reason not to. Coaches i currently have a reason not to support: Schiano, Briles, Petrino, Kiffin.

If you are referring to me as "Schiano's big fan on here," I don't care whether they hire him or not. My only contention is that it is unfair to brand a man based on what he saw and did, because none of us know for sure what he saw, or if he saw.

I would have done everything in my power to stop the rape of a young boy and im 100% certain. So i feel pretty safe judging a guy that did nothing.

No one would ever admit to that even if it was true. If he was there he had to know that is my opinion.

Unfortunately, here we are (allegedly). So many smoke signals this morning that it was becoming obvious. Now, what are we gonna do?

So, he's just gonna this around with him in his briefcase to every recruits home he visits? I'm sure that'll work out.
