Normally that should be correct. But "bad season" is a very kind way to describe this season. They are not simply; not living up to expectations. They are one of the worst P4 teams in the county. Based on performance. Players have checked out and essentially quit. It's ugly. One bad season shouldn’t put a coach on the hot seat, especially after the kind of year they had last year, but I honestly don’t know if Norvell can recover from this.
It may be too late. They have had a couple decommitments for the ‘24 class. Their only chance to try and salvage this season is to bench dj u. His best season was last year at oregon st against lower level fbs teams. If he doesn’t pivot he will fail miserably. That’s assuming he makes it more than another year or so.
Yet they forget this isn’t his first “bad season” at fsu… he has a 3-6 and a 5-7 season already.Normally that should be correct. But "bad season" is a very kind way to describe this season. Isn’t this like year 5 for him? If he hasn’t developed a better product from players he recruited in the HS ranks what is going to change a year from now?Don't think Norvell is on the hot seat yet. Everyone knew this wasn't going to be a great year, albiet not this bad. They got lucky with the portal and then just went all in plugging holes there the last year so the entire team outside Patrick Payton is young players and this was a wake up call to Norvell that you have to develop your own and create home-grown depth too. Their 2023 and 2024 classes were pretty good, so they will be fine, but this year shows the nation really you can't just depend on the portal
