"SC Wins Tomorrow" - Tony Morrell

I get tired of this crap.... look who SC has played and how they have performed... Look who UT has played and how they have performed, even with 60% of their starters out at times... UT, if they come to play, will own these cocks...

Someone made a good point earlier, if this staff pays even half attention to polls and the playoff committee, we need a good win tomorrow and if they are smart they won't let off the gas...

Muschamp and Jones will suit up and play a one on one game of smash mouth on a tennis court. Both head coaches will have little to do with the game. The staffs will coach and the players will play. The head coaches will give interviews.
Looking at the recent play of both teams Tennessee wins by 10. Looking at recruiting in 2013/2014/2015 it closer. THe TN avg. recruiting finish was about 12th while SC was 16th. This looks like a 3 point game.
So I say TN by 7. Our advantage will be QB, Barnett, special teams and complementary football (field position). We will need to stop the fumbles and penalties. The freshman SC QB get beat up.

It's generally a waste of time to respond to posters who lead with statements like this, but what the heck... it's a slow day and you've provided enough material here to make this interesting.

To start, ad hominem attacks and generalizations like the bolded ones above are why some avoid the FF.

Both valid points, neither of which were "not applied" in my original statements. Of course, we played a tough schedule and were missing players. But, we got humiliated at home by AL. How the team recovers from that is a valid question, whether you think it is, or not.

Two parts to this... addressing the first statement: obviously the difficulty of overcoming the injuries is glaring, especially against a team like AL.

That said, your bolded statement is just cowardly garbage. When healthy, this team should be able to beat anyone, on any given day. Even with the injuries, this team has a lot of talent, and a good scheme, play calling, and execution gives this level of talent the opportunity (at home!) to beat a true freshman quarterback. The notion that we "couldn't even beat" AL "even if everyone were healthy" is pathetic. Thank God you're not coaching UT.

File all of this under: "Do we have the talent to embarrass them? Yes."

Both the 2013 and 2014 games against Muschamp's FL teams were replete with crappy playcalling on both sides of the ball, bad clock management by Jones, not to mention back-up quarterbacks who came in and embarrassed us. That 10-9 game was atrocious, and we should not have lost it.

But, just for fun let's assume you're right and that, on paper, we should have lost those two years. Now we're back to your "we can't beat more talented teams" complex. AL lost to A&M in 2012, Sumlin's first season, in Tuscaloosa. They lost to Auburn and OK in 2013 (Malzahn's first season). They lost to Ole Miss in 2014, etc... Teams with superior talent are not unbeatable.

Okay... the fact is that Jones has never beaten Muschamp. Should he this year? Absolutely. I suppose we'll agree to disagree about this talent chasm you reference between the two teams in '13 and '14.

None of this has any bearing on my original comments. Although I see you are enamored with name-calling. Perhaps this was a waste of time responding to you after all. Oh well...

Name one position group UT is more talented than Bama outside of maybe wr and I will entertain your response. Name calling?

I hope this was sarcasm but it's not in blue so...we don't have the talent to embarrass sc? Wow. How many 4/5* players do we need? We literally have 10-15 future nfl players in this team. We should destroy a team like sc. But we won't. We needed a missed extra point to beat app state. Why are we unwilling to state the obvious? We are coached by one of the worst coaches in the entire ncaa.

Because most people with an IQ above a gnat disagree with you but that doesn't stop you from saying it on a daily basis. 10-15 future NFL players on this team? Please name them other than the obvious 3-4 of Barnett, Sutton, Malone, and maybe Maybin who has had major health issues

Should the Vols blow them out tonight? Probably should but I think it's about a 10 point win. The MO of the team has been established through the season and I don't see it changing. Start slow and wake up the second half.
There are some players coming back from injuries so of course that will help. It might just take a quarter or two to shake the rust offof them.
At the end of the day a win is a win so I will take it.

I'm sorry but at most SC will play to their limits.

But victory, outside of Debord running the same play over and over, doesn't seem plausible. Coach boom is gonna be coach Kaboom tonight.

Name one position group UT is more talented than Bama outside of maybe wr and I will entertain your response. Name calling?

Irrelevant. Your position was that we could never beat AL. That's pathetic. And based on the SC game, maybe you are actually coaching the Vols.

And name calling? Does the term 'moron' ring a bell?

Name one position group UT is more talented than Bama outside of maybe wr and I will entertain your response. Name calling?

I'm responding again because, in light of the infuriating defeat at SC last night, I feel like challenging some stupidity.

Okay, so one position group in which UT has greater talent than Bama? How about QB? A true freshman QB, playing on the road in Neyland (against Barnett, no less) vs. a senior QB who has shown his ability to take over games with his legs. How about that comparison?

Of course, that doesn't matter if your offensive scheme is deficient and can't put your best weapons in position to be utilized.

By the way, I'm eager to hear your insight on the Jones vs. Muschamp coaching showdown last night, as well as whether you have any thoughts on a position by position talent breakdown between us and SC. Any thoughts on Dobbs vs. a QB who should still be in high school? How about LB? DB? WR? I'll even spot you a few "morons" and you can insult my IQ, if you'd like.

Bueller?
