At least...

Gary Danielson wasn't calling the game! Am I right?!?!

I'm one of (seemingly) few on this board who liked Bob Kesling's voice on Saturday's. To me, it had the sound of Tennessee Football. Probably not unlike many of the older friends feel about John Ward.

However, Mike Keith's calling of the games has quickly won me over. I watched Saturday with the sound off and Mike Keith up. Go Vols!

Lose by 30 or listen to that jackwagon Danielson fawn over Georgia. Choose your poison!

Can you imagine Tennessee up 21-7 all the excuses he would have been giving Georgia? He had to have had something against the Vols.
While the guy did suck, it seemed the commentators were making the same excuses Danielson would have.

Just as Danielson used to make excuses for Bama/Georgia, the ABC/ESPN broadcast on Saturday kept willing Georgia to a comeback by saying “remember these guys have been down before, they’ve been down before!” Over and over.
On another note, VFL Mike Keith is AWESOME.

I still am not over that game. Never been so deflated over any Vol game in my life.
This one will leave a mark for some time. It's not aging well with me. Like the LSU SEC championship game and the Oklahoma game in Neyland under Butch. Yes, I know it happens to every team. But this was a massive fish that got away!

I think if it was late in the season and it kicked us out of the playoff, then it would’ve been the worst gut punch. This is honestly akin to what happened to Georgia last year against Bama and they ended up 10 - 2 and in the playoff. All of our goals are still there.

Or Wyoming at Homecoming...
The scars run deep?

Some of these mentioned I had forgotten. "Incrompentant" at the helm that year.

I remember being at "the catch" game at Neyland vs Florida in 2000. It was such a great game and Tennessee was winning the whole time, I honestly walked out of Neylad thinking they had won. It was surreal.

I was also present to witness the Georgia State fiasco in 2019. My son asked, "Dad, why are you laughing?" I said, because this is literally so bad, it's funny. Or else I would have been crying, I guess.

I was in Philly for something during this game. I was watching at the hotel restaurant bar and a former UT player (recent at that time) came in. For the life of me can't remember who it was, but I remember thinking it probably wasn't the best time to try to talk to him. He had been drafted and if I remember correctly was known as one of the stronger players at UT. I keep seeing Ndamukong Suh's face which is why I'm struggling to remember. I can't even remember where NS went to college.

Update: Darwin Walker. Not sure why he would be at the hotel.

Or maybe, just maybe, the announcers were giving accurate insight into how the game played out? “The announcers kept saying Georgia would come back” is a weird thing to whine about after Georgia came back.
