There is a lot of conversation regarding Sark on the boards. I haven’t seen many comments about Sark’s recruiting background. There are dozens of articles out there about USC recruiting as soon as he got that HC gig. Pruitt + Sark could make UT recruiting special.

With the recruiting going on in Athens, it’s needed.

Sark can recruit and it would be great to get our footprint back in California like we did in the 90's and 2000's.

The other thing that I haven't seen mentioned (maybe it has been) is the importance of recruiting someone who would run the pro-style offense. This team has officially been under this offense now for 10 months and it seems to be the offense that CJP wants to run. What would the impact of switching back to a spread (or variation of spread) be on our offense given that we have recruited for pro-style during the past two classes? Maybe I am overthinking it.

I’ve thought that ever since names like Freeze and Briles were thrown out there. Didn’t seem to jive with what Pruitt has said he wants to do.

Sark is a GREAT coach & recruiter.

His alcoholism cost him major success as a HC.

He hasn’t had any issues for last 4 years. So this shouldn’t still be a issue for ANYONE.

Hope Tennessee can get him. At the college level he is elite in both recruiting & play calling.

Would be a homerun.

The same guy that tried to sell us on Schiano last year is now trying to sell us on Sark...

His last 2 OC gigs cost Bama a natty and turned the high powered Falcons offense into a mediocre offense that cant get the ball to Julio in the red zone...

I think the timing is perfect for Sark to get back into the college game. At this point I think Sark wants to be in college football. I could seeing him coming here and staying for a while and doing well and then maybe trying a move backup, or maybe he does well and like it here. Either way I think he is looking for some stability and is ready for a big time college venue again. He is a very good coach and recruiter, we could do much worse. This may be a perfect storm for him and UT, timing is sometimes everything. I think him and Pruitt would play off each other well. GBO!!!!!

Say what you want, but i would hire Kiffin as OC. The guy is good at play calling. If you going to pay Helton 1.2 million i bet that's more than Kiffin makes at his job now. The guy done his job at Bama when he was there. and you didn't hear anything about him. Kiffin is as good as anyone out there.

That information is not accurate, but continue the narrative.

@BigOrangeMojo

Not getting the ball to Julio in red zone is not on Sark. That’s all Matt Ryan, that guy can’t read a defense and will just stare down his wide receiver. Plus everyone just double teams Julio in red zone anyway. That’s not on Sark. That’s on Ryan not keeping a D honest and using the whole field

Pruitt wanted Freeze but Fulmer (most likely big brass) stopped it. I don’t think Briles was an option. It’s been NFL guy for awhile now. Make fun of Matthews but he is probably right (95% done)

His offense scored 31 points in the NC game.

It's true that any hire is going to get run down on here at this point... Steve Sarkisian was a great OC at USC and was doing a decent job as the head coach at Washington. He would be a good choice... but I have my doubts that he is the one.

And yet Freeze ended up taking a HC job at Liberty. People need to stop with the Freeze/Fulmer/big brass stuff.

I think Pruitt has realized the run first, run often offense isn’t going to work for us in the modern SEC. We don’t have the talent to push around UGA and Bama. Need to try something different but sustainable.

Agree with the CA thing but really need to start winning high profile guys away from UGA and Clemson. Hate seeing those guys in Clemson game which could/should be Vols.
