Sources: Sarkisian turns down Cards for Bama

The Arizona Cardinals offered Steve Sarkisian the offensive coordinator position, but he instead will return to Alabama to work on Nick Saban's staff, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini.

It is not clear what role Sarkisian will have with the Crimson Tide.

We can debate. Saban truly believes he can win with anyone. Locksley is an A level recruiter and a C level gameday coach, and it showed against Clemson. Same for Lapoi. Sark has the chops to call a good game but he’s gonna get judged on taking home the trophy. The expectation are nuts.

Who cares? Alabama will be in the NCG again next year and will probably win it. Alabama has had a revolving door of coordinators and yet still wins at an insanely high rate. The common denominator? The unquestioned GOAT.

After watching Sark’s struggles with the Atlanta Falcons the past couple of seasons, Alabama fans weren’t exactly thrilled at the prospect of having Sark back. They took to Twitter to blast the rumors.

Lockley and Lupoi are not in same class as his other coordinators. At least not from an X/O standpoint.

And that’s no slam on Saban. Not one member of his Michigan St staff joined him at LSU. He won 2 SEC and 1 NC with entirely new staff. He can win with people he’s never worked with. Still does.

May be great for 1-2 years. At some point the churn on the coaching staff will cost them more than Justin Ross.
