Here is the box score from last year's 26 to 20 hail Mary loss to Florida. Sapp was the third leading tackler, and the leading tackler is playing on Sunday's this year. Look at the box score and maybe he has an NFL future.

In this year's blow out, no player had more tackles than Sapp had last year.

He is having trouble understanding why his dream of playing in the NFL is being damaged as this team loses by double digits. Pruitt said he wanted to win every game. Sapp can't figure out why he did not get a snap the first half.

Feels like the coaching staff is peeing on a life's worth of effort and not even delivering a win.

Sapp better get with the program.

The program don’t have to cater to him.
Something isn't adding up. If Sapp did what Pruitt claimed, at the very least he would have been suspended. The fact that he isn't being punished, externally anyway, leads me to side with his version of the events. I would caution Pruitt not to lose the trust of his players. It seems as if he spoke without knowing all the facts.

didn't I see McCruellers (sp?) playing for Pittsburg last night? Sapp needs to chill.

I posted this on another thread earlier, but it's on topic for this thread so I'll re-post. The story with Pruitt and Sapp is the most troubling event so far -- even more troubling than the 6 turnovers, IMO.

Seems like most fans are assuming that Sapp is lying, even though Pruitt hasn't bothered to explain the opposing versions of what happened. They can't both be right. Pruitt's repeated praise of Sapp in response to direct questions seems kind of weaselly to me. I'd be willing to bet that the team knows exactly what happened. And if Sapp is NOT lying then it's the kind of thing that could really cause problems between the players and the new coach down the road. Sapp's character was questioned and the accusation made national news. Sapp almost certainly won't say more. He's already taken the almost unprecedented step of publicly contradicting his head coach in the media. Somebody's lying and we'd better hope it's not Pruitt. If so, his failure to set the record straight will be viewed as a betrayal and a complete lack of respect for a 4th year player who has played a lot of snaps and is probably very tight with his teammates.

We dont know the whole story. Clearly, something is going on behind the scenes we dont know about. Unfair to both parties to speculate.
Agreed. And the first party to comment shouldn't have. Coach will learn to keep his mouth shut.

This is what bothers me the most.

I disagree.

I would caution him not to walk on egg shells with players.

I don’t know, you don’t know, who knows for sure what happened. CJP did say in his presser yesterday Sapp made a mistake and 18-22 year olds will make a mistake. He also said it would be handled internally. Hopefully all is good now or will be.

Bottom line Pruitt is gonna be the head coach for at least 4 years.

Players and fans might as well use to it.

Gonna be a tough year but I for one think better years are ahead with CJP at the helm.

He had to address it in some way and took all responsibility for it. There’s no denying Sapp left the sidelines. Sapp addressed that he wasn’t asked to go in the game or was he asked to leave, but he didn’t address that he left, unless I missed it, which is entirely possible.

Both sides seem to have gotten over it pretty quickly. Perhaps fans should also, unless more come out.
