First, I am in no way comparing them skill wise to Wilson or Little, they've yet to play a down or actually sign. I just want some nastiness brought back to our D and these are my 2 favorite recruits in this class.

Nice. Thanks for the video. It was a good shot in arm.

Those days of LL and AW were something to behold. It would be great to see players like that in the Orange and White again. I'm feeling good about these recruits and Peters, Jacobs, O'Brien, and others. Adding these guys to Smith, Maggit, AJ, Miller, and the rest will hopefully get the defense back to that level. I would like to see 1 or 2 true ball hawking corners with speed as well. That would really beef up the D. We're getting there. One painful inch at a time. We're clawing our way back.

You and me both wildemanvol...

We are getting there slowly but surely. I love the type of recruits Dooley is bringing in. Next 2-3 years are going to be full of sad and great moments but it'll be a hell of a ride and worth it in the end.

I think the difference between Fulmer's and Dooley's recruits is that Dooley is recruiting players with character that will likely stay on the team and contribute. Fulmer had Coker, Shafer, Ontario Smith,
James Banks, Tony McDaniels, Brian Darden, Daniel Brooks. All of those could have contributed but they didn't stay here long enough.

Watching todays post practice press vids I was thinking how much I like our coaches. I may not always agree with all of their decisions, but I really do like them and feel pretty good about them. This season should've been a lot better. Losing players has really twisted 2011 into a helluva dogknot. I think 2012 will be much improved.

Excellent point. Same thing I've been saying. The real proof of CDD's coaching skills won't be just in the Ws and Ls. It'll be in his ability to get good talented kids to come to UT (which we're starting to see) and then getting them to stay the full 4-5 years so they can be coached up to their fullest potential (which remains to be seen).

sometimes i forget just how good #1 and #27 were

these guys have a long way to go to get to those guys level, but they both look like they pack a punch

on another note, Santos looked faster than i thought he'd look at his size so i was surprised to see someone saying he looked slow

I don't care what position he plays. If he's a playmaker, he'll make plays no matter where he lines up

Nice video! Big Al is one of my all time favorites. After some of the promising Pro Bowl years he had, I think he would have been a NFL hall of famer if his career wasn't cut short. I think the future is looking bright with recruits like this.

I look forward to the day when we are the ones with the 2 or 3 year age advantage at several positions. A 19 year old kid is usually going to get beat by a 22 year old man.

Btw, in the recent vid that I saw about Santos he looked a bit... umm... "thick" around the middle. That little bit of "bad" weight will be gone and replaced by muscle weight after a year in our S&C program. A little leaner and he could pick up a smidge of speed. I'm NOT calling him fat or slow. Just saying. He also seems pretty nimble on his feet.

Also, remember that most of the high school players you see are playing more on instinct than with high level coaching. A little higher level coaching to teach him to be in the right position, trigger sooner, and take more efficient angles and he'll "look" quicker on film than he does now. Instinct is something that you can't coach, though, and he's got that. You can only build onto those instincts and that nasty mentality.

McNeil was laying some wood on those tackles.
Santos, however did a lot of arm tackling. I would like to see him put his helmet and pads to use more often. Jus sayin
