If you understand that going into the bama game whether patchwork o-line was going to hold up against that defense was a questionable, after the we lost 2 more linemen it was going to get ugly, and if you leave your defense on the field for 3 Qtrs it is going to be a disaster - Please check in as someone who is lucent and knows about football.
If you think Debord is a moron, Butch should be fired, or Jalen Hurd is bum -You may demonstrate the fact that you are an idiot by ranting a raving some more if you wish. I would sugest that you be silent so that you don't have to eat crow or make some lame excuses for your ignorance later.

I don't think we win that game even with everyone healthy.

I don't think Saban is the devil but I'm certain they've met.

And I do think I'm sane.

Looks like I have to do this again on another thread. Just because someone else has a different opinion than you doesn't mean that they're ignorant. You're really gonna have to accept that some people are just going to have different opinions than you. They're not ignorant, they just have a different view and if you can't deal with it, maybe you should take a break from this board for a while.

Don't think Debord is a moron, but probably should be replaced with a more dynamic OC after this year. And definitely Mahoney. But the Vols are still the Vols, and our future is still bright.

What I've learned after last weekend is that some fans just can't WAIT to go into meltdown mode. At the start of the season most on here said they would be good with us splitting the gauntlet, especially if we split it by winning against FL and GA, which we did. Other than a rash of injuries we are right where we thought we'd be, with our destiny in our own hands, more or less, because most on here are also sure FL will lose one or more of their remaining games. So, I am at a loss when I look at the ridiculous meltdown threads. Is it because of the injuries?
I do agree that we could use stand to get a better OC and OL coach. So I can wait and see what happens after this year. The bottom line is if we even MAKE IT to the SECCG, I will be ecstatic!

Had we had won decisively against App st and Ohio, and not needed a Hail Marry against Georgia, the fan base wouldn't be on a thread. There is a legitimate concern that a lot of this season was luck and the Bama trouncing didn't help. It just feels like everything good this season has come with an asterisks.

Saban comment made me laugh, points awarded.
Expected for fanatics to respond emotionally with the highs and lows.
I do my best not to post until I'm calm again. despite some glaring issues, we're still exactly where I thought we would be 7 games in, so I try not to overreact.

I do agree on the App St and Ohio games. I think the reason for our slow starts has a lot to do with the OC, which we're stuck with for now. It's just that I'm not going to start calling for Butch's head over it. He's shown that he'll can people and go after upgrades. We'll see if he does it with Debord.

While I agree with your stated position, I reject the notion that you can appoint yourself the ambassador of knowledge and wisdom. Even though you happen to be this one time.

I didn't go into the Alabama game expecting to win, but Debord gets exposed by every equal or better opponent we play, and regularly, against inferior competition.

How anyone still defends CBJ hiring Michigan's Olympic Sports Team Administrator, as our offensive coordinator, baffles me. Just saying it out loud even sounds ridiculous.

We had a ton of injuries, we were at the end of the toughest 4 game stretch that anyone will play and we got drilled by and extremely good football team that would of been hard to beat if we were healthy. With that said, yes, I still has some concerns with our coaching staff. All of them. That's not a knee jerk reaction from one game. That's from their overall body of work.

If you would have said, in fall camp, that the team would be 5-2 after seven games. I would have been ecstatic. Florida loses two more. Vols cruise the rest of the way while healing up(even though you can almost guarantee we'll make 1 of those last four SEC games close) and Florida loses 2 more. Vols coast into Atlanta and will face an Alabama team that will be overlooking a much healthier UT squad. Not to mention, if A&M pulls off the improbable next week, then UT has a MUCH more favorable matchup in Atlanta.

I would postulate, that if we were 100% healthy on offense, and Debord called the game the same way, we'd have still lost by a similar margin. If we were 100% healthy on defense as well, we might have held them to 27.

This wasn't the first time Debord has tried to make Dobbs a pocket passer, behind an offensive line that we know, can't block for more than 2 seconds.

This team couldn't cruise by App State, or Ohio, what makes you think that we are going to cruise by SC, Mizzou, Kentucky, and Vandy, especially with the amount of injuries we've sustained?

Sounds to me like you're describing football. I can recall a lot of football seasons and I feel like you can't make assumptions based on how you win or lose. Winning or losing is all that matters.

I don't blame anyone for freaking-out -- it's their right. But maybe some of us just haven't been around long enough to have the perspective that it takes to be able to just enjoy success.

Well he is right. The team is 5-2 and will prob be 10-2 and in Atlanta. If you are jumping ship on any of the things he mentioned then you are acting pre-maturely and unfortunately a large portion of our fanbase thinks that whole sale changes need to be made because they are over-reacting to one bad loss. Our team was utterly depleted. Mentally and physically. And I gaurantee these ship-jumpers will be the first to celebrate when the Vols win the East.

We tend to be behave and think irrationally when it comes to things we are passionate about. That being said, I was disappointed but not shocked at how things turned out Saturday. After seeing our list of injuries in black in white, I realize how irrational it really was to think we could possibly win that game. The silver lining here is that we can still win out and have a great season. And God willing, we will make it to the SECG with most of our starters back in action. Take a deep breath, Vol Nation. We will be fine.
