Assuming we win out our wins will consist of bowling green, north Texas, western Carolina, South Carolina, vandy, mizzou, Kentucky, and unranked disappointing Georgia without their only game changing player. bowl game doesn't mean much because it will be a lame bowl against a team like us who is playing for nothing. Now we get to go through another long offseason about how close we are and vol fans favorite phrase "but next year"... We still haven't beat Florida for a decade, Bama for damn near a decade and will end the year with zero impressive wins. Love butch to death and believe in him and his recruiting because I don't have a choice but this movie is getting so old and it's becoming embarrassing to be a life long Vols fan. We're the equivalent to the Dallas Cowboys who I hate- great stadium, great tradition, hype every year and known for laying an egg. I'm tired of being the national chatter champions. We've been full of excuses for 15 years and haven't won an sec title for almost 20 years. Put up or shut up next year and save the excuses. Sorry to be negative but it's the gods honest truth and it's coming from a die hard lifelong Vols fan.

SEC titles at UT are hard to come by (5 in roughly 40 years). I've said from day one I don't think Butch can win the NC here. I think there are only a handful of coaches that could.

However, he's the best coach since Phil was in his prime. Like him or not, I think he'll be here a while.

At least were rebuilding and moving on from the Great Orange Depression (AKA the reign of Hamilton).

If you're that embarrassed to be a fan, then maybe it's time to pick a new team to follow.

Georgia is going to win 9, maybe 10 games with their losses coming to two teams in the hunt for the playoff and us. I don't care how miserable you want me to be, that's a quality win.

So after one bowl game in 5 years we're already complaining about going to a "lame" bowl this year? How quickly some forget how "lame" having no postseason at all was.

They beat a lot of bad teams like we did. They have no quality wins. Bama beat them by 4 tds, Florida beat them by 3 tds, and their whole fan base wants to fire the coach of 15 years. If that's a quality win we've really lowered our expectations.

Seriously? I think he's 1 recruiting class away from a NC. We were in every single game this year after only two recruiting classes.

That's my point. How embarrassing is it to be excited and proud of going to a bowl... This is tennessee not Kentucky.

I hope so. I just think he's going to be too stubborn on scheme and staffing to win it all. Plus he's still recruiting behind Bama and others. We'll see. I'm pulling for him

Come on GA. You can't tow the company line like Hubbs. You know better. Georgia isn't that good, especially without Chubb

By your definition, there are about 10 good teams in the country. Just because they got shelled a couple of times and won the games they should doesn't mean they wouldn't win games against some decent teams.

Did you just wake up from a coma that started around 2000?

We've spend the past few years struggling to even be bowl eligible. It's perfectly ok to be excited about going to a bowl game in back to back years.

There's nothing wrong with our scheme or staff (evident by our ability to play with teams like Bama who clearly have more talent). UT fans have always *****ed about scheme and coaching

Surely you really don't believe we have to have the number 1 class every year to compete? If not, then your comment about recruiting behind Bama is irrelevant

And looking at Bowling Green, that was a better win than I thought at the time. They are 8-2 and only lost to Memphis by 3. I don't want to think what a Memphis-UT game would look like right now.

I also think SC is better now than they were at the first of the year.

Bottom line, we are 6-4, bowl eligible earlier than we have been in years. Win out and we are 2nd in the SEC East. Yes, the SEC East is not what it once was, but we have been 4th in the East when it was down as well.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. We did that once before with Fulmer, and look at what followed. I'll take 8-4 or 7-5 this year with a bowl win and see that as progression.

UGA is no world beater, but the Nick Chubb argument is a little bit false imo. Chubb's injury certainly didn't help, but Sony Michel was the playmaker on that team from day 1. I don't think they've won or lost a game because of Chubb.

Damn op same song different tune but I am over it. I would guess I have been a fan, contributor, season ticket holder longer than you 47 years so spare me please, as an alum in my day we never heard of the tcu's, the baylors, the Stanfords, and all, the world of college football is changing. Butch is getting the Jimmie and Joe's and that is 80 percent of the battle.
