Salter most likely starter for 2021

Bailey will hopefully improve a lot next year and be our starter. Mac Jones didn’t look that great last year but this year he looks like he can do no wrong, of course he has superior coaching though. I hope Salter is the guy that can come in and be a leader that gets the team fired up with a desire to be winners and have a mindset that losing is not ok and you need to fight all the way to the end.

He did pretty much dominate 7a last year against much tougher competition that TL ever played against. If not for basically missing an entire season due to two different injuries that could be chalked up to Marietta's horrible offensive line his first 3 years, he would own every record in the state.
If he is that good, all we can hope for is that Weinke and Chaney don't screw him up.

THis is why Chaney took Eason and Fromm in 2016 and 2017 only to have two of the highest scoring offenses in Georgia history. Oh, but he didn't want them. smh

I really do hope not. I do think people don't really realize how good he was in high school on here though. He is 4th all time in yards in GA, 3rd in tds and he missed 9 games and whatever playoffs he could have been in while injured. Last season he missed the state record for passing yards in a season by 56 yards. He threw 50tds last year which is like 4th all time in a season in GA.

He is the only one at the top of any categories in GA that played in 7a too. All the other guys were lower classification guys and Marietta played a national schedule. He threw for all those yards and tds last year playing nationally ranked teams. The first three years oh his high school career, Marietta may have had the worst OL in GA and he still put up numbers, avoiding pressure, hanging in the pocket and taking huge hits. He played against a ridiculous number of 4 and 5 star DLinemen while in high school.

Kaidon Salter is most likely going to be the starter for the 2021 season, as long as Chaney is still the OC. My thinking behind this is at Chaney's previous stops as OC he went with the young guy he recruited to develop him and played him early. I do not think there is a realistic chance JG comes back next year (thankfully) and Chaney did not want HB to begin with IMHO. Chaney recruited Haynes King but was unable to land him, so he settled with keeping HB. Chaney likes the dual threat QB's better which is why I think Salter will be the 1st string qb next year, so Chaney can develop and run with "his guy"
So we're settling for guys like Bailey now?

Another UGA narrative widely circulated was him throwing to his best weapons a lot. 🤪

LMAO. Salter is still in high school and Bailey has had very little practice since arriving at UT, so you are going to name Salter the starter. Hell, why not just go ahead and name some 8th grader a starter in 2025. Makes about as much sense as naming Salter the starter.
Beyond me how this stuff get's started

Well maybe you have a definition of recruiting that fits the situation.

Chaney nor UGA ever offer him a commitable scholarship.
You think you know so much when you know so little. You’d say the same about all the others that offered after his commitment as well.

meditation: wait a min......... Pruitt? Is that you?!

A snippet from Kaidon Salter's latest game:

"We have seen the Tennessee-bound quarterback standout assemble a couple of particularly stellar performances in wins against DeSoto and Aledo, two other name programs in TXHSFB. But Duncanville presented a tougher challenge, and the 6-foot-1 1/2, 185-pound Salter faced relentless pressure from start to finish.
Salter's Friday stat line is a bit misleading. He completed 13 of 30 passes for 133 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions, while rushing 13 times for seven yards and one TD (stats per the Dallas Morning News). Salter started the game with his quick, consistently accurate short passing game and got a pretty good rhythm early despite the pressure. However, three of his first-quarter throws were dropped, including a would-be touchdown on an impressive deep throw while rolling left and throwing across his body to the back-left corner of the end zone.
Salter's touchdown run represented one of the most improbable one-yard scoring jaunts you will find. Under heavy pressure, Salter evaded an initial, split two more, and slipped out of the grasp of the fourth as he trotted into the end zone.
Cedar Hill tied the game 14-14 five minutes into the second quarter when Salter hit senior wideout Jayden Moore on a 32-yard strike on yet another highlight-worthy off-schedule play. The throw was a bit dangerous, but Salter, rolling right and throwing off balance, threw it up for Moore, who won the ball in the end zone between two defenders.
Salter made a handful of these on-the-run throws for the big plays that Cedar Hill managed against Duncanville's stout defense. Cedar Hill was poised to tie the game early in the fourth when Salter juked a defender on a designed run, sprinting inside the 10 before being stripped at the 3-yard line, resulting in the aforementioned fumble recovery for Wright at the 1-yard line. That preserved a 21-14 Duncanville lead and Cedar Hill did not get another chance as good as that one.
There is always an element of risk-taking in Salter's game because he's such a good playmaker and a confident leader for his team. Friday's game saw more risk-taking than usual, and Salter managed to get out of it without any interceptions. The stock report is still up on Salter, even after this loss. He is ranked No. 77 overall in the 2021 class, per the Top247 rankings."

Our HC has shown zero ability to get any freshmen ready to play. If he doesn’t come here with the ability to play he won’t be coached up enough to start.

OP, you could be right since things always change year to year. There’s a couple points I would add though. Seeing HB in person and film playing high school ball was a thing of beauty. Yes, he had great weapons to throw to but the ball was on target and on time most every play.
Knowing some high school coaches in GA 7a, I heard more than once that JP told HB the future of TN football was his. The job was his to lose. It was also stated that he never considered anywhere but TN and other schools didn’t bother to offer. Cough, cough GA.
The Rona messed up a lot this off-season and I firmly believe that if it hadn’t, JG would have never seen the field this season unless injury provoked.
With all that stated, I truly hope Salter comes in and pushes HB to the max and maybe even split time to mix up defenses. If he wins it outright, he’s hell of a player.
Now...if we can only find a couple of corners that know how to defend the slant.
