Sadly, its time for some Dormady

I don't know if Dormady is the answer behind this line, but I do know when Dobbs has time to throw he doesn't do it well. He has got to be one of the most inaccurate passers I've seen start for a major program in the SEC.

Some of the throws he made last night were utterly terrible and there is no excuse. In my opinion the only reason he's starting is because of his ability to run. Now that the staff has decided to limit his runs what good is he doing back there? If Dobbs isn't the answer, then roll the dice and play someone else. You have a 50/50 shot at being right. Dormady's arm and accuracy are better, maybe he should get a shot.

Kelly looks fine running behind that line BTW.

When Dobbs takes a sack, he really takes a sack. I can't remember a QB who seems to lose so many yards on sacks, like he's incapable of throwing it away.

Dobbs has made horrendous decisions all year. The thing he's best at he no longer does. Dobbs isn't a passer, he throws into triple coverage. I'm for sitting him down. Last night if we would've lined up in I formation with Dormandy and John Kelly we would've won by 21. We are seeing player management and coaching malpractice.

Also incapable of making a check down to the back who is wide open in the flat.

Dobbs runs best on QB draws and runs where there is no hesitation -- of course none were called last night -- SC defense was well prepared -- Jones and Debord were not

There were several QB draws called and SC ate them up

Have you seen Dobbs throw?

Dont want a pissing contest just think Dormady must really suck if he cant compete with what Dobbs has been doing lately.

QD could look like Tom Brady in practice and Butch will still start Dobbs. That's his boy, and he's playing.

There have been numerous games where Dobbs has willed this team to victory. Dobbs has pass problems, if that is something new to someone, then you might be the issue and not the team. The coaching staff needs to game plan to maximize his strengths. If they fail to do so, they are the problem. Dobbs is good enough to beat every team left on our schedule.
If CBJ benches this young man with four games left in his senior season, I will not only lose respect for him as a coach, but as a person.

Last night,
Dobbs was not called for holding during a TD run.
Dobbs did not leave a a USC wr uncovered for a touchdown
Dobbs did not make CFA knock the ball out of his hand during a quick pass play.
Dobbs did not come up with a game plan that let a high school senior pass all over them.
Dobbs didnt tell the defense to blitz when two new players had just been put in the secondary.

Dobbs made mistake, but he is not the only person to blame for last night.

Actually he is. 3 turnovers. He's leading the SEC in interceptions. This has been the case the whole year. The guy is garbage.

If he is slightly opened to it then yes.

There are three things that can happen this season where I will completely stop supporting CBJ..

1. Anything less than a 3-1 record in the next 4 games (I expect us to lose to Kentucky, not saying im happy with that record, its just what I except).

2. Benching Josh Dobbs with 4 games left in his senior seasons.

If either of those happen, ill still watch and go for the team, will show no support for CBJ. Luck for me, CBJ is not stupid and Dobbs will finish this season as QB.

So you supporting Jones ignoring the fact that our QB leads the league in turnovers?

Please tell me how what we have seen all season is the best option at QB

Dobbs is a fine young man and a wonderful representative of our school. That being said, he is an awful QB. If I were Butch, I'd go with one of the younger guys for the rest of the season

What would Saban do in the same situation?

He's bad. His stats are bad. I guess only Vandy and Missouri are in a worse situation as far as QB goes. The answer might be sitting on the bench, but the stubborn coach will never give him a chance.

I've stood up for Dobbs the past few years when most of my friends have hated on him but IMO he should lose his starting job after last nights performance. Debord isnt using Dobbs the way he should be used and I think most of you would agree with that. At a minimum, Dormady should get a series or two each quarter. Sadly, we now need to see what Dormady does with some meaningful snaps. I still respect Dobbs and appreciate him, but obviously Debord doesnt, so why not play Dormady? Bash away.

It's not that debord it's using him right, it that bc Dobbs can not consistently beat you with his arm and defenses know that we are a 1 trick pony and they key on the option ..... that's what is happening and I need to see our coaches change the schemes or personnel and not repeat their stubbornness and I love Tennessee and I support our coaches, I just need to see them adjust so they don't lose the rest of the fanbase and our coaches are in a rough spot now! Go VOLS

I feel sorry for our young qb's. In the 4 years Dobbs has been in the program and IMO he is worse than when he 1st started. Anybody with the basic knowledge of qb play could coach a young fit youngster that has never thrown a football to complete the passes required in butchs offence, in no time. All he needs to do is throw the ball 15 yards or less. These young qb's have made a terrible desicion to come play for butch and company. Great university, terrible coaching staff.

Have you seen the routes the receivers run ?

Have you seen the receivers look over at the bench each time the ball is bounced to them? I have watched the receivers reactions for multiple seasons now and it isn't positive. You can see it on tv and even better in-person. Wide-open receivers who do not get the ball also react by throwing their arms up in disgust. They know how poor of a passer Dobbs is. He is a good leader and a good runner, but he doesn't read the defenses well, does not run the read option well, and does not throw well. The receivers do not expect to receive the ball when they are open and I think it reflects upon their efforts (outside of Jennings).

I think dobbs should continue to play as a RB or WR. He is not a QB!!! He is the worst passer UT has had since well he might be the worst of all time. He has cost us 2 games now with turnovers. A&M and USC east. He fumbled the ball and threw an interception on our side of the field giving them 14 easy points last might.

Not the only one to blame but he was terrible.
Why should every other player on the team have to perform to stay on the field, but he gets a pass to play regardless of how he performs?
