It's the same as if you were embedding an normal jpg or whatever.

Just hit "Insert image" and post the url of said gif into the pop-up box.

i don't use the image icon because in some versions it does the stupid preview instead of full size pics. I put in the extremely laborious effort of typing out [i m g][/i m g] tags.
