Being an old baseball junkie and a Tennessee fan, it has been fun watching these guys on TV, listening to them on WNOX through the internet or following the games on Gametracker. As soon as my son finishes his HS baseball career here in Birmingham, I'll be making the trip to LNS.
Especially, our players and coaching staff have performed very well this year. I appreciate the effort and attitude they have all contributed to our baseball program. I earnestly hope Mike Hamilton will re-visit the baseball program and help support Coach Del in ways that will be productive. As has been mentioned by the media lately, we need to lock down our 3 paid coaches, market the team in a way that we can greatly enhance ticket sales and provide the freedom to attract some more recognizeable teams for non-conference games. In fact, I've sent an email to Mike Hamilton expressing those thoughts. If you agree, I hope you will do the same. askmike@utk.edu
Thanks to our seniors, Chris Howell, Joey Andrews, Alex Suarez and Rob Fitzgerald, Eric King and probably Trey Bridges for their hard work and dedication. Thanks to our Jr. draftees Eli Iorg, Chase Headley, Josh Alley and Luke Hochevar. All you guys have left some huge shoes to fill.
To all you "locals" please post any info you may come across regarding our 13 incoming freshmen or anything else realtive to the team.
I've enjoyed chatting with you Vol baseball fans this season throught the VolNation baseball gameday threads! Now on to football I guess.
