Saban supports Fulmer

I'm sure he does. Coaches run in a tight group and don't want each other to be fired.

Saban's getting nervous now because He KNOWS what is going to happen when Fulmer is gone...His short lived reign of terror will be OVER!

A few years from now, Saban could be Fulmer. I bet he'd like a little latitude and respect when he's on the way out.

Or maybe it's that Fulmer is a great guy and has one of the all-time best records in college football. We aren't that many years removed from him having the highest winning percentage of long-tenured coaches. Non-UT fans don't scrutinize every decision or mistake like we do. I'm sure Saban feels that he is a much better coach but Fulmer's accomplishments should be respected. UT has been a historic power but it's not easy to recruit kids to Knoxville. Fulmer's national recruiting in this era is impressive. Fulmer might not be a great gameday coach but he got a lot of great players to come to UT and that brought us a lot of success. That said, I hope he's gone fairly soon and in a graceful way if that's possible.

Danged if you do, danged if you don't!

Would you all have liked it better if Saban would have downed your coach and in the same breath down your school and football program?

I agree with Saban and I agree with gainesvol82.

It would of been alot more entertaining had NS went 'Stone Cold' on Fulmer.....been a boring game week to date!

That's like Rick Pitino supporting Wade Houston a few years back. It's laughable. (And no, I am not saying Phil Fulmer is Wade Houston)

This article is no big deal at all. Almost all coaches say that about the other coach that they are about to play, in the nfl and college. They say things like, "They are a solid football team, that is well coached." I hear that kind of thing everyweek. They say that whether they mean it or not.

What do you expect him to say. It was basically a generic answer for the media. Fulmer wouldnt publicly say that Saban is lying piece of s**t either.

Can't blame Saban for supporting Fulmer...
He needs an easy breather in the conference schedule every year.

Unless you're Steve Spurrier talking about Ray Goff.
