Saban on UT/Kiffin

I was pi$$ed when he left because he left at the worst time being few weeks away from NSD and in the middle of the night. He took the coward's way out. Glad he's gone because we would've been on major probation.

The reason some are still bitter is because of how he left NOT because he left. He did us a huge favor. And how any UT fan can still defend him is a mystery to me.:shakehead:

  1. Coaching is a job. When better opportunities arise that you want, you leave your current position and take the new job. I'd have done the same thing to take the Tennessee job.
  2. I appreciated the work he did while he was here. He was bold and brash at a time when Tennessee was mired in apathy and the molasses that was late-career Fulmer.
  3. He recruited very well. Had the SC job not opened up, he would have brought in a top-5 class in 2010 and would have done far more with that class than Dooley did.

I'm not saying he's a good person. I'm not saying he's a great coach. I'm definitely not saying that I'm not 100% happy that Butch Jones is the current coach. I'm simply saying that I liked the hire, I liked the boldness, I liked the recruiting, and I understand taking a dream job with a pay-increase. By Fulmer's end, Tennessee was no longer circled on the calendars of our biggest rivals. I appreciated the relevancy of Tennessee.

I was upset when it happened, it was a huge blow to the program, not just in terms of coaching turnover but to our image. After the Dooley mess and seeing the kind of coach Kiffin would have been had he stayed here, I am happy he's gone, he did us a favor.

Actually we dislike lame cuz he sucks as a person and committed some violations while here. He then ruined USC and . . . .the raiders have sucked for decades can't pin that on him.

However, We hate him cuz he coaches at Bama.

Saban showed me that he is actually stupid, rather than a football genius, by hiring Lane Kiffin. Kiffin is by far the BIGGEST POS in football. He bolted from Tennessee to USC after one year, two weeks before NSD. He then took some of our recruits with him and left us with some NCAA problems. He then stole a coach from Jeff Fisher of the Tennessee Titans, which resulted in a lawsuit against him and USC. Then he screws up USC'S program and ends up back in the SEC. I can't wait for Kiffin and Saban's egos to clash and watch the fireworks, because it is going to happen.

On October 25th when Alabama comes to Knoxville, I would love to hear 100,00 fans standing up with a new cheer:

Go to Hell Kiffin,
Go to Hell

Go to Hell Kiffin,
Go to Hell

Just to show him the respect he deserves

BUCK FAMA AND KIFFIN TOO

just makes me hate both of them that much more.
Do not forget as well that Pat S. was quoted as stating that, given the choice, she would much prefer to slap the fire out of Lane k.'s face than Geno A.'s face.
Hearing about this helped purged the Lane K. debacle from its sour taste in my mouth.

I missed that one.

To be honest, everything I've read from football people says that Lane is a helluva good coordinator and that what he struggles with is the PR stuff necessary to be successful as a head coach. He'll probably do really well at Alabama, and anyone that thinks Saban is stupid for hiring him in that capacity is likely in for a rude awakening.
All of this does not change the fact that Kiffin is a horrible human being.

Yeah because 7-6 and multiple NCAA violations in less than a year is such a good job. Also his recruiting was through the roof - solid players who stuck around. :eek:lol:

Someone needs tell Nick USC thought the same thing. How'd he turn out for them?

Where is the proof? It's never been confirmed that he called plays as OC during USCs hey day. Most think Sark was the OC and Kif got a glorified title.

His play calling at Oak, TN, and USC as HC was questionable when evenly matched and in pressure situations.
