Okay how do you people think our RBs are going to do this year?I think its a strong point of our offense. I think Coker will have a breakout year. And also is Foster or Coker going to get the start for the Cal game?

I think we're 3 deep, and apologies to Fostermom, I think Arian could end up being #3 by the end of season.

Well, at least until I heard how hard Arian was playing this spring. I personally think we're loaded there, but the OL matters much more.

Well, when you consider the fact that we have the same running backs and much of the same offensive line as last year and our running game last year was the worst rushing attack in UT history since the 1960's, forgive me if I'm not as optimistic as most other people here. When you also consider that we have zero returning experience at wide receiver, any defensive coordinator worth a damn will load up against our running game until our inexperienced wide receivers prove that they can beat somebody. Since they apparently can't beat incoming freshmen with no college experience in practice, that doesn't sound too promising.

1) Most of the line returns = experience.
2) All the runningbacks return = experience.
3) Cant get any worse :)

IMO

1. Coker
2. Foster
3. Hardesty

I'd like to see Coker be a Reggie Bush type of player on our team. Line him up in the slot a few times and be the running back. I have Hardesty 3rd just because I think he trys to break a 70 yard run every time he touches the ball with his jukes and fake outs instead of getting his 4 or 5 yards and go with 2nd and 6 rather than 2nd and 9

Experience at getting your a$$ kicked doesn't impress me too much. Also, our best offensive lineman from last year (if you can actually say that we had a best offensive lineman) is gone.

I think you might actually be right about that. It's not like our o-line can get any less of a push than they did last year.

So really, all you guys who are saying were being too optimistic are wrong...we cant get worse, so we have to get better:dance2:

Too early to tell really. But at the moment Foster would start against Cal, but Coker would get a good chuck of the playing time.

i think foster will start first few games, then coker will start rest of the season. foster and hardesty will still get some carries though

Fulmer is going give Foster a majority of the carries. He likes a more straight ahead runner.

Coker might run for a 60 yard td, then he'll get 4 more carries and get benched so Hardesty can come in and run for 2 yard gains.

Coker did have problems in blitz pickup. I dont know if that is still the case but that and his off the field issues are what kept him from more playing time.

In the Cal game...Foster and Coker probably split carries. Maybe 10-12 carries a piece.

IMO Coker did enough last year to go into fall as the starter and get the majority of the carries. He was far and away the most effective back last year.

If we can get better run blocking than last year we should be pretty good this year at running the ball.
