Is the playcalling designed to shorten the game? I saw that both UTEP and Florida ran less than 60 plays. Maybe this will reduce injuries on our defense over the course of the season.

I’m struggling to find any positives...

Helton is lacking big time. As much as I hated Kiffin, I'll give him credit in playing to Crompton and the team's strengths. Helton reminds me of that one kid sitting in the corner trying his best to ram that square peg into a round hole.

I agree 100%. He does not even pass the smell test. He way out of his league. His lack of askill set as a play caller shocks me. Who do we have on this staff that could be called on to take over this duty???? I dont know. Any thoughts?

I TRULY Did pick the wrong line of work. These football coaches make millions to fail their way upwards. Jokes on us fans (suckers), I reckon.
Sometimes i wonder if they try to make a simple game complicated to justify their insane salaries. They overthink things too much. Last night was a poor game plan and that's putting it nicely.

Up the middle for nothing seemed to be the game plan. What happened to the offense that did small slant routes all the way down the field. Our play makers aren't anywhere near the pocket!

On a 4th & 1 the coaches don't know what a boot-leg is? Remember Peyton on the goal-line against Al?
We need Cut to come back for calling the plays on offense.

He should have given poor Jared quick passes, him trying to stay in the pocket til a receiver came open got him killed!!!! Not a damn wide receiver screen either!!!! Quick slants more screens etc.

The defenses know that the o line can’t hold up so they bring the safeties up to take away those quick throws and rely on the d line to pressure the qb. It has worked for every defense we have faced and will continue to work until we can pass protect.

I have a feeling Heltons time here will be short.

On the first offensive play, I believe we got four yards running. I said to the Mrs., I'll take that all night.

I guess it only took Florida one play to figure that out and shut it down.

Oh, and after that, I said why aren't we throwing the ball?

The Mrs. said, because it would just get intercepted.

They start so bad each week taking forever to get started. They should just run a 2 minute offense for the first few sets of downs to wake themselves up. Act like they're desperate to score and wing the pigskin all over Sanford Stadium for the first few sets.

Sad more fans cannot realize these simple concepts.

I thought Helton did ok, with the exception on a few calls. You got to remember he is handicapped by our oline that doesn’t do much well.
Everyone wanted the return of the pro style o. Run, run, pass, is it. Every now and again you pass on first down and that’s what we are doing. We Just are not running well enough. We need to average 4 yards on first and second down, leaving a manageable 3rd down. If we can get 6 yards on first down, we can attempt a pass on second down.
We could run more screens and reverses but our line is not agile in space and misses the blocks.
If we pass more all our QBs will be broken. Got to fix the oline ASAP. They are getting better but very slowly.
We have two receivers now catching the ball and one not catching a cold. That has to be fixed.
I did not like the runs when we were backed up to our goal. We can’t block or get a push. You had to expect the safety, though conventional wishdom says to run it. I would have thrown 3 passes aginst the man coverage. From the shotgun the QB can dump the ball if a rusher goes free. Even if running had yeilded a first down, we were not going to drive it 98 yards. I say take the big play while the D is selling out to stop the run. I hate to say it but spurrier did it all the time.
