i heard that tech(that is tennessee tech to u guys who dont know) is recruiting brent shcaferer now.

i live in the same town as tech is in, and this would be a big deal down here.

they dont run a similar offense to ut. but he could run wild and on these ovc idiots.

probably bs, but who knows?

oh yeah, if he goes to a d-1aa school he doesnt have to sit out next year.

There was an article in the Tennessean about that yesterday. It said that tech is not officaly recruiting Schaefer, but someone may have made a call to ask about his status. Hopefully they will recruit him and hopefully he would come here. That would be great for Tech.

Sad to see what happened to Brent. I would like to think that he would have a chance to succede somewhere, but atleast Tennessee was smart enough to block him going to anyone they might play in the next 3-4 years.

I met Brent last year, and didn't think that he was the type of guy that would have ended up like this. Sadly he proved me wrong.

Brent wouldn't be wasting his time with a D-AA school. As shown by the last few drafts, people who excel on that level can in fact get drafted with solid workouts and solid performances on that level.

Brent needs to go to a mid major like USF or UCF. He could really excell at QB not playing in a major conference. UCF hasn't had a QB with his talent since Donte Culpepper.

I believe a tackle from Eastern Washington got drafted low first or high second round.

Unfortunately, most of the great Iaa qbs wind up playing in Canada. One that immediately comes to mind is Tracy Hamm, a qb that led Ga Southern to two NCs.

and hey...Cookeville is dry except for beer & wine....(at least when I was there) so it'll be harder to get messed up and in trouble. Not too much hardcore party action at Tech.
