to play the game or forfeit. Word is that they will reject the buy-out. I have no idea if there is any validity whatsoever.

Ok so we need to play them and beat them and make them wish they took the buyout.

I hope this is true. Understand wanting to have a easier schedule, but for Gods sake its North Carolina. Even Spurrier is letting us know how pathetic it is.

Hamilton will probably just take the forfeit, and give the team an extra week off.

Good. I hope we are forced to play them. We scheduled them, we should play them. Unfortunately the damage is done. Thanks Mike.

I hope this is true. I really do.

But, it is hard to believe that a buyout clause was not in the original contract. If there was not one, all I can do is SMH.

Weird. What's the point of having a buyout in a contract if it can be rejected by the other party?

Unless UNC is stupid, they'll take the buyout and run. This game is NOT a likely win for them and never was. This is and always has been about the rest of the schedule.

I still don't understand why we would duck NC. It's freaking NC for pete's sake! Their defense is good, maybe great....this year....next year they lose their best guys to the NFL, and next year our OL and QB, arguably are biggest question marks of this season, will be much, MUCH, better. I don't get it...maybe I should read through the other threads on this subject to find out if there's good reasoning. On second thought, I think I'll pass. Anyone got the gist of it?

Not true. They can either accept the buyout or get nothing.

Those are the only options. The NCAA has not certified the 2011 schedule for either team, and they can only force you to forfeit games on a certified schedule. UNC will not be on the schedule we have certified next spring.

with as much hype as there would be surrounding the game after all of this, I think they would take their chances at home.
