Rumor of Meeting in Chicago...

I was told by my boss that he heard Gruden meet with boosters in Chicago on Monday. Only booster by name was Haslem, but he thinks there were more. He heard this from a prominent booster that lives in the Murfreesboro area. Not in Mboro, but a town around there.

Also, they supposedly offered Gruden 6 mil a yr. No decision has been made at this point, but Gruden is interested.

This is just a rumor, and I have no idea if true. Just thought I would share in the rumor forum.

Does anyone else find it incredible that Jimmy Halsam, savvy billionaire businessman, is spending all of his time looking for a HC for his alma mater (to which he gives money) rather than looking for a HC for his newly acquired NFL team (which makes him money)?

Gruden is not interested in coaching at Cleveland. Do you really think Holmgren would have been let go if there was any sort of mutual interest between Gruden and Cleveland?

I'm pretty sure Big Jim is the big UT donor. His sons are Jimmy (Browns owner) and Bill (Governor).

Obviously no one knows for sure, but this actually makes sense considering the timing of everything. I believe it was both SBV and OCI who confirmed on Tuesday. It seems like there is too much smoke for something like this not to happen. Just not sure if Gruden has actually accepted.
