Who could blame him? What sucks is that the NCAA makes transfers sit out out a year even after a coaching change.

What an idiot. He's leaving because Buzz is gone and he might not get to experience another sub .500 season?

He'll stay if he's got half a brain.

I'm sure most of this kind of talk is purely emotional right now.

Its tough for a kid to go through a coaching change. The man who recruited you and helped you through your first year will be gone. He doesn't know who will come in, and what he will try and implement. There aremany factore surrounding it. It all depends on who is brought in. If they don't bring in a big name im afraid we might lose him. Look at it from his POV, worst case scenario, he goes to Louiville, site out a year and then plays for an excellent team for an excellent coach. :dunno:

Pitino would require that Lofton play much tougher defense, else he'd be sitting on the Louisville bench for most of every game.....no mattter how deadly Chris is from 3-point range.

Ya'll notice that even in the final games of the season that Lofton would be benched for defensive situations at cruch time and put in on offense?

I like Chris Lofton a lot and want him to stay. But will he forget that Louisville completely snubbed him in recruiting and that he will be the go to guy for UT next season? Will he really be willing to sit a year?

I'd bet against it right now and think he'll be wearing Orange come November.

That's what I'm thinking. If Louisville was the right place for him, he would have already been there.

This is all premature to even talk about right now though. I'd bet that Lofton probably wishes his Mother hadn't given the interview in the first place.

Of course, id bet that he will be here, but you never know. My roommate hung out with that Tyler Smith kid when he came up here last weekend. Supposedly he's a good recruit out of TN...anyways, he said that he wouldnt come here is Buzz was gone.

We just need to get the new coach in here so he can settle everything.

I think I've been hearing that line since the 1980s.

I hope we finally get it right.

It is going to work out sooner or later. If we can just get someone the kids will respect then it may all work out.

I've read other posts by people "who know Tyler Smith's family very well" who say that Smith likes UT the School and will most probably come here regardless of the coach.

How many players signed in the early signing period? Because if they did they can ask the NCAA for a waiver from there letter of intent and open there recruiting process again if your head coach is not there anymore!

we are still returning a good team next year. IF we can pull in a good coach that can get his players to play for him, we can have a pretty good team next year.

It's ridiculous to think that any player will leave the school just because Buzz left. If TN makes a dumb hire, then that could happen. But if TN hires a top tier coach with a tradition of winning and has been around long enough to have a tradition of winning, then nobody is going anywhere. As a matter of fact, our current players will probably be so grateful for the right hire that they will name thier first born children after Mike Hamilton. Let's just hope they don't look like Mike.

My source is not the Tennessean.

Good team next year what rock have you been living under. Crump was bad but his replacement is worse. McFadgon is gone, Lofton will be gone, Gordon will not come and T. Smith may ask out.
